Summary
I knew hot flashes were supposed to be hot, but I didn't expect flames.
One day I'm in anger management, normalizing the cordial hate between me and my husband.
The next, we're divorced, and he has taken both our house and the business we built together. I'm 40 years old and living above our empty restaurant, plotting my next move.
And then the world around starts lighting up - literally catching on fire. I'm starting to think my defining characteristic may not be my snark or my cupcake-baking prowess, but spontaneous combustion.
I'm done suppressing my anger. I'm done playing by other people's rules. Ready to take the reins on my destiny, I'm making the choices I used to be too afraid to make. Like my favorite cast iron skillet, women get better with age. And at 40, I know exactly who I am and what I want.
I'll embrace the fire and the fury. This is my life, and I'm in control.

Thoroughly enjoyed this first in a new series
I thoroughly enjoyed this first in a new series. Keira Blackwood has written an excellent first installment in her new series. The characters are well developed and soon seem more like friends than mere characters. Traci Odom, as always gave a stellar performance. I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

disappointing
This book did not hold my interest Once again the ex husband was abusive and demeaning The hero was over forty and worried about her body and looks. This took away from the book. I would not recommend wasting your money or credits.

I wanted to like it
Premise is interesting but…
It never pulled me in. The longer I listened, the more my mind wandered to other things. Reader’s ok, not great, for this story. Traci Odom is wonderful, with better material. I got bored, at around chapter 4, I went back to chapter 2.
Then around chapter 15, I went back to chapter 12.
I’m at chapter 24 and I just don’t care any longer.
Sorry Ms. Blackwood, being middle aged, did not help me enjoy this more, at all.

Really unique series
I wasn’t so sure about this series at first, but I’m so glad I stayed with it. It’s so unique, not the same old tropes that have been dragged out a hundred times. It’s a fun, easy listen, the narrator is great, she manages different voices that add to the story without being too overt and distracting. No swearing, sex is mentioned but not described in cringy detail. Stay with the series until the very end, it’s worth it.

It didn't keep my attention
This sounds like it could be a cute story but it just did not keep my attention. My mind was wandering so much I don't even know what the story is about. I'm going to get my credit back on this one.
