Summary

Patrick and Clare wake up trapped in a basement, a thin wall separating their cells. Their captor is mysteriously absent, which at first seems like a blessing. As more time passes with no food or water, they begin to realize a clock is ticking for their survival.

Combining their intelligence and determination, the two begin plotting an escape from their shared prison. Overcoming each obstacle only presents another obstacle standing in the way of their freedom. It will take all of their ingenuity and strength to find their way out of this mess.

They know their captor is still out there, and it is only a matter of time before he returns.

Before He Wakes is a fast-paced and tense thriller that ratchets up the suspense and tension before the thrilling conclusion.

Did not disappoint!

This is a story about a twisted family forced to be together. Some of whom act out so Big Daddy is there to issue punishments, no matter what the cost.

This was a really good story which kept me on my toes and peeking around corners. The author lolls you into a sense of wellbeing, love and comfort, then all of a sudden there's struggle, distress and mayhem. I liked the way the author introduced a new character or side story which gives you a false expectation that the story will take a certain path, then he totally changes direction leaving less predictable. At one point I thought I would be disappointed with the 'typical expected ending', but no, the author made the right decision and took it to another level. Brilliant narration too.

I was given this book for free of my own choosing and voluntarily left this review.
