About this listen

You know those stories where an adorably misunderstood, clumsy girl needs a fake date to a wedding so she asks her brother’s best friend and they accidentally fall in love? I wish that was the kind of life I lead, but it’s not.

I don’t need a date to a wedding. I need a date to a funeral. Clumsy sometimes fits, but then, that’s true for all of us, right? But adorable? No. Misunderstood? Nope again. I’m just your average girl, standing in front of a funeral invitation, asking it to be a winning lottery ticket instead.

And I don’t have a brother, or a best friend with a brother available, which means I’m stuck with Tyler Jaeger. Sure, he’s a professional hockey player who also knows advanced calculus, but let’s say we’re not compatible and leave it at that. I should know. I am a matchmaker. Not a very good one, but that’s beside the point. I know a mismatch when I see one.

Still, Tyler’s what I’ve got, and I am not going to this funeral solo, so he’s what I’ll take. After all - what could go wrong at a funeral?

I Pucking Love You is a hilariously wrong romantic comedy about the world’s worst matchmaker, a hockey player with a problem he doesn’t want to talk about, and an awkward date of convenience that everyone would prefer to forget. It comes complete with a cat working his way through his nine lives, all the sexy times, fish and chips, and a swoony happily-ever-after.

I love Muffy

Oh I love Muffy so very much, she’s funny and sweet and I love the growth that she goes through. Seeing Tylers growth and his protectiveness is just so enjoyable. I love these books so much and would happily listen to more.

Tyler & Muffy!

First, I have to say I love quirky, and you can't get much more quirky than Muffy. She owns a matchmaker company and her unorthodox way of finding a match is finally starting to work. But success still is a ways a way, and leaving her college education for this may be questionable. When she has to go back to her college town for a funeral, she isn't going to go alone. She needs a date. Tyler is a cranky hockey player, mainly because ever since his one night stand with Muffy, things have not been the same. Now is the chance to find out if she is the missing ingredient. A date with her should do it. But what happens next is nothing short of magic...and tragedy....and hysterical laughter. Pippa Grant has created my favorite couple of this series with these two. Tyler turns into the most swoony, attentive boyfriend ever and he just melts my heart. Muffy is an easy character to relate to, with her trip ups, and her genuineness, she is extremely likeable. And Grant's sense of humor had me laughing out loud! It's sports and romance, entrepreneurship and facing your fears and most of all finding your soulmate. The perfect listen to keep things light and happy, and as you listen, everyone will want to know why you are smiling!

Emma Wilder and Aiden Snow are the perfect cast for this book. Between their wonderful voices and incredible comedic timing, it is a winner! Wilder picks up all Muffy's insecurities with the nuances in her voices and makes you feel and understand her so easily. Snow is broody in the beginning and we feel the change with Tyler as the story goes with the inflections of his voice. Fabulous team to tell this story.

Standalone in a series

I love the characters in this book. Pippa writes the best Hero’s, I love how Tyler stands up for Muffie. It did take me a little while to get into this story though. The issues the characters have in this book are different than any other book I’ve listened to. The narration was great. I definitely recommend this book. 🎧Audiobook Obsession
