Summary
"Hard pass."
That's what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse - and I never saw her again. It doesn't matter that I'm a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face.
Beauty might only be skin deep for some - but I know better.
"Pay up."
That's what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she's clever and entertaining. I'm instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank god she has no idea who I am - or what I look like.
I'm a professional athlete - how hard can playing the love game be?

kind of silly
the whole thing about the two leads being "ugly" was silly. I did like the guy being crippled with shyness and would like to see that explored a bit more but he seemed to get over it pretty quickly.

🙄🙄
Loves the characters. Wanted more story. I felt like the “ugly” storyline wasn’t really delves into - it was just brought up and then forgotten...like not dealt with at all. Seemed like lazy or rushed writing. And Why oh why does Alexander Cendese continue to get jobs? It isn’t that his voice is a bad voice...it’s that he completely overacts EVERYTHING. His sexy voice is like a cheesy porn version of sexy voice and everything else is just so EXTRA. It takes a written character from sexy to NOT SEXY. Stop hiring him for romances, guys!!!!!

Hot Sloppy Mess
What was this even? I didn't know who the main characters were (Is he a "nice guy" or a grump?) Why did they like each other?
And the Narrators? Woof, female narrator wasn't as bad, but the male narrator made me want to dig my ear canal out with a spoon.

Narrators matter
Great story and characters. The male narrator has a pleasant voice until he tries to affect a “female” voice. Oh my goodness it is awful 😣

Cute story
This storyline was very cute. I agree with other reviews that there was not enough explanation regarding the 'ugly jock' plot. However, the narrator's ruined this book for me Mia Madison's cadence is God-awful and Alexander Cendese's female voice is too whiny. Not the same quality book that I have come to expect especially after Jock Rowe, one of my favourites of Sara Ney.

Too Much
Good book, but I couldn't stand the whining of Miranda. She would go on about her feelings for male character.

Wonderful narration and an incredible story!! I love the ones that are not fawned over by every female. But a genuinely nice guy. Such a great story

Disappointing
Lost me at “handjob.” Bit incredulous given this genre. Author seems unwilling to capture experiences and thoughts of her male characters, which gives this book a steady shallowness. Have read and enjoyed this author’s work before. However would not recommend this book to readers of any gender. Nor would I download another book by this author. There are too many other options from which to choose.

Cute story
This book reminded me a lot of Rhett’s story from the book How to date a douchebag- The learning hours. (If you have t done that series you should!!!) Loved this book and how these two were very similar with their confidence and how they thought of themselves (even though she had a bit more confidence than him). At the start of the book I wasn’t feeling the narration by Mia but as it went on it grew on me. I enjoyed the book a lot, definitely a HEA!!
