About this listen
A nerdy wallflower recruits her athlete roommate to give her love lessons.
As a Highland Games athlete and firefighter, I’m used to women trying to get under my kilt. But I never expected to be propositioned by my bookworm roommate.
Casey’s one of my best friends and my buddy’s younger sister. What am I supposed to do when she confesses that she’s on a mission to lose her virginity—and I’m the guy she trusts to do the deed?
If I say no, she’ll only turn to another dude instead. Someone’s got to keep her out of trouble, so I agree to give her some hands-on experience. A little friends-with-benefits action shouldn’t be a problem. I can teach Casey how to bring a man to his knees and still keep things platonic.
Uh, yeah. Small problem. The more boxes we check off on Casey’s lesson plan, the more I realize I’ve taught her too well.
Because the man she’s bringing to his knees is me.
Kilt to Order is a sizzling small-town brother's-best-friend rom-com that features a found family of muscly men in kilts, a spunky book-nerd virgin, a protective playboy roommate who agrees to be her love coach, and a guaranteed HEA for these two adorable friends to lovers.

Love!
This book was simply a delight to read/listen to!
Kilt To Order was the book that kept giving! Roommates, best friends, best friends little sister, small town and forced proximity… what more could I have ask for!
When Casey decides she is no longer interested in remaining a virgin and she needs some lessons in the sheets (so to speak), who better to help than her best friend/roommate Gareth. They were simply such a delight to get to know and read about. I loved their chemistry, set against the backdrop of this lovely small town.
Whilst this was fun, I also loved the emotional aspects of it and them both digging and facing their individual challenges and traumas both separately and together. I loved them and I was rooting for them throughout! 💕
It was also nice to catch up with other characters from Susannah Mix’s King Universe and all the side characters were so fun and lovely.
The audiobook is great to listen to. Narrated by Callie Dalton and Lee Samuels. Both were excellent. They did an amazing job of with their respective characters. Their voices also fitted perfectly together. And they were able to bring the story and characters of this book to life!

Casey and Gareth!
Casey is much more comfortable with books then men, but she has decided that the time has come for her to have her first time and with the help of her friend she knows that Gareth is the man for the job even if he is her roommate and friends with both her and her brother.
Gareth is a firefighter who despite his reservations wants to ensure that it is the best experience possible for Casey. Seeing the friendship between them evolve into something much deeper as well as the trust and acceptance they had of each other only reinforced how perfect they were for each other.
Lee Samuels was a great choice for Gareth as he brought out his caring and charming sides while Callie Dalton brought out both the self-doubt when it comes to men and the strength when it comes to knowing what she wants, and they both had you feeling the humor and emotion of the story.

Sweet and Sizzling Small Town Romance!
I loved this sweet and sizzling small town brother's best friend romantic comedy. Casey and Gareth's story is fun, sweet, passionate, and heartwarming. I liked the humor, and the banter. Gareth is handsome, protective, and supportive. Casey is beautiful, and smart. They are perfect together. The supporting characters are great. I enjoyed it!

A very good audiobook indeed
That feeling when you read an author for the first time, but they reference other books they’ve written… Not exactly pleasant. It’s like happening on a conversation you shouldn’t be privy of. But besides that minor frustration, I really enjoyed this book.
My main problem with it, to be honest, was the fact that the characters sounded way younger than their age. I get that, with that whole roommate situation, there was a college mood going on–four people living together, including one woman and three men, looks like a dorm. But they all have serious jobs, they’re responsible adults in their late twenties or early thirties, why do they act like jocks?
Okay, there may be one reason: they’re actually jocks. Sort of. They all participate in Highland games. That was an original athletic pursuit, I think. Almost sad that it wasn’t used more.
At least, it’s a good occasion to see the dynamics between the main characters. Because it’s the characters that drive this story. You get one big trait of each of them at the beginning, so you have a taste of who they are, but you won’t know their whole story before much later in the book. And I guarantee you’ll be surprised. The angst is low, but not non existent.
The fun, on the other hand, is quite present. Besides the characters’ quirks, there are a lot of hilarious conversations, mostly between friends, and a few very funny situations.
And the romance is great. Casey and Gareth are friends, first and foremost. And they actually already love each other, even before they sleep together, it’s obvious. But they need that arrangement to get past their hangups and finally open to each other. Once they discover how compatible they are, and considering how they already trust each other, there’s only one possible result.
The narration was great. The female narrator is perfect for Casey’s quirky energy, and the male narrator does Gareth’s sensible calm, and later his simmering passion, quite well. A very good audiobook indeed.

Great narration, stand alone story
Susannah Nix is one of the authors I follow for new releases, so I started Kilt To Order without reading the description. I was a bit worried when I got to the part about the heroine being inexperienced because I prefer older characters, but I shouldn’t have worried. Don’t let that stop you from reading this book. I really enjoyed the story and I’m looking forward to more stories in the Kilt Trip series. It’s set in the same town as the King Family series, so now I also want to back and listen to the audio versions of that series (since I’ve already read them).
Update - I just listened to the audio version of Kilt to Order and was able to experience the book in a different way. Since it was my second time through, all the firsts for Gareth stood out and it was more apparent that both characters were a little out of their comfort zone.
The audiobook is narrated by the team of Callie Dalton and Lee Samuels. I thought they did a great job with the narration.
I received a copy of the book at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

Sweet, Spicy & Delightful! Fabulous Story & Listen
This is a fabulously entertaining brother’s best friend, friends/roommates to lovers romance novel, one that puts a smile on your face and tugs on your heartstrings. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. I adored the two lead characters, Casey and Gareth, the secondary characters are just as wonderful too. Casey is shy and has never had a boyfriend, which is one reason why she still has her VCard, something she is determined to lose. When her friend suggests asking her roommate, Gareth, the kilt wearing hot firefighter, to do the deed. Gareth has been spending more time at home, he has his reasons, ones he was not ready to share yet. He and Casey have become good friends and they can talk to each other about anything, he was not expecting her to ask him what she did. How does he respond to something like that, he is friends with her brother, who would not approve but he can’t let her just go to just any guy for what she wants. So it is in his best interest that he gives her what she wants and in return she can help him with something he needs help with. What will this arrangement do to their existing friendship? Gareth, who does not do romantic relationships change his stance on them? This story has a perfect balance of drama, humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait, steamy romance. The writing and plotting is fantastic, as are the wording building and character growth and development. Susannah Nix, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Callie Dalton and Lee Samuels did an amazing job bringing the characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was believable and fitting. Samuels grasped every aspect of Gareth’s persona and Dalton did the same for Casey, quirks, and all. Both were just as amazing performing the roles of secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Fun! Fun! Fun!
Now this is entertainment! A fun spin on a brother's best friend, close proximity romance, I became completely invested in the outcome of this story! Casey is on a mission to finally give up her virtue. Willing to do what it takes, her best friend suggested Casey choose her roommate Gareth. A fireman by trade, he is hunky, and the sweetest man around. Except, they share an apartment with two others, one being Casey's brother. Gareth agrees to her scheme, teaching her the ins and outs of sleeping with someone with the condition, no feelings are to be attached, and only for one month. Gareth has no intentions of becoming involved with anyone, and he's not starting with Casey. But is it possible to live with someone, sneak around and be as close friends with them as these two are not develop feelings? This fun, spicy yet sweet story has a bit of everything I love! It has chemistry, essential to make this all work. It has heat, and while a focus of the story, it's not all it's about. It has history of friendship and family, all wrapping this one up in a wonderfully, warm and fun listen! It's a story that is sure to warm the heart and make you smile.
And who better to tell that story than Lee Samuel and Callie Dalton? Lee Samuel is the perfect voice for Gareth. Alpha fireman, saving lives, warming beds, his voice is sensual and dives right into my heart. Dalton is amazing as Callie, finding her way through feelings and life, she picks the nuances to make her feelings real. I love this combination and their performance made the the listen!
