About this listen
The world had tried to break her.
Addie has dreamt of freedom for as long as she can remember - peace away from the torment of her old life. But now that it’s finally within her grasp, she’s struggling to take those first steps into her new reality.
The last thing she wants is a new roommate to see the scars she’s desperate to keep hidden, especially not the ruggedly handsome man who steals her breath and sends her heart into overdrive.
“I’m nobody’s hero. Trust me.”
All Beckett wants is to silence the demons of his past. The first step is to make amends for not being there when his family needed him the most. That means settling in Wolf Gap for good, even if the town reminds him of all the ways he failed.
He never expected to share a home with a blonde-haired beauty with haunting hazel eyes. But he’s held captive by her quiet strength and the way she sees everything he tries to hide.
Soon, an unlikely friendship becomes so much more. But when forces from Addie’s life slink out of the shadows, they could both lose everything they fought so hard for - down to their very last breaths…

Starting to live
Addie is a woman who has been abused and she is finally free and learning to live her life not in fear. Little by little day by day she is doing more and living her life on her terms. Beckett Easton is back in toe taking over the town’s doctor’s practice and in his own way trying to make things right with his family that he feels he failed. These two are learning and growing together and slowly falling for each other. Loved the narration of Sebastian York, and Ava Erickson .

Loved it!
Audio review: I loved Sebastian York and Ava Erickson narrating in this book and I liked the overall story a lot! I enjoyed the couple getting to know each other and slowly falling in love. This is a slow burn but this couple together had sparks flying and I loved watching them grow together and as individuals.
I liked the storyline and thought it was different than the same kind of books out there so that is a major plus right there. It was interesting and kept me invested and listening non stop.
(I’ll let you read the blurb and refrain from rewriting it here.)
It has some suspense which I’m always looking for in my romance books so thats another plus!
I did feel a little bit lost concerning the weird group she grew up in, since I didn’t read the 1st two books in the series.
I think starting at the beginning would help you to understand this one better.
I still really liked it a lot so I can only imagine if you start at the beginning of the series this would make for a 5 star series!
It has me intrigued to go back to the start and take a chance on a new to me author.

Exceptional Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!
Catherine Cowles never ceases to amaze me with her beautifully heartfelt stories, stories that grab my attention the moment I start her book and captivate it to the very end. She has an exceptional ability to bring you in to her story right alongside her characters and once there nothing else around me matters except what is going to happen next in her book. Her characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. This third book brings us Adeline “Addie” Kemper and Beckett’s story, Beckett is the Easton who left town but he is back in Wolf Gap, he wants to reconnect with his family and he took over the retiring doctor’s practice in town, so he is here to stay. The Easton family continues to heal from the traumatic event in their past, individually and as a family. I have been looking forward to Addie’s story the moment she was first introduced in the series, hearing what she went thru growing up is heartbreaking but I admired her strength and perseverance, and watching her stand up to her past and come into her own was absolutely wonderful to watch and experience, I rooted for her the entire time. Both of these characters are broken in their own ways, Beckett deals with guilt from his past and his own inner demons, the same for Addie, but as time goes on and they get comfortable with each other they realize all their broken pieces fit together. I loved how everything played out in this wonderfully written and plotted story, there is plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, some mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. Catherine Cowles, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Ava Erickson and Sebastian York were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Erickson grasped every side of Addie’s personality, from her insecurities to her determination and, most of all, her strength and bravery. York’s Beckett was spot on, he too grasped all sides of his personality as well. Both were great at performing the roles of all the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These mega talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storyteller, their narration enhances and already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your audiobooks.

Sexy smalltown romance with a pinch of suspense
HIDDEN WATERS was my first read by Catherine Cowles, and oh my feels. I think I might have found a new go to for smalltown romances. Addie and Beckett totally stole my heart with their broken pieces and the beauty of them finding each other.
Although theirs is the third book in a series, I never felt lost or like I was missing something. What I did gather though is that I would have most likely fallen for them even more deeply had I met them in the previous two stories.
This one is a great smalltown romance with a dash of suspense and heartache moments and a whole lot of family bonding. Not to forget a hero that is undeniably perfect for our broken heroine, caring, patient and considerate.
The audio narration is done beautifully by Ava Erickson and Sebastian York, two of my seasoned favorites, who gift the stories even more layers and emotions. Amazing!

I love this series. ❤️
I absolutely love the Tattered & Torn series, thoroughly enjoyed the Audio which I listened to in tandem with reading the book.
We always knew Addie’s story was going to be a tough one, and that it was.
Addie has suffered at the hands of her father for too long, finally getting out with the help of Hayes and Evie. But it’s going to take a lot for Addie to trust people and let them in.
Beckett has his demons, as past he wants to forget.
After Addie and Beckett become house mates, both start to open up and a friendship they never expected begins.
Too soon Addies past comes back to haunt her, her father and his friends and not prepared to let her go.
Total rollercoaster Catherine gave us here. We all wanted Addie to have her HEA, she just has to go through so much to get it, with Beckett along for the ride.
Looking forward to Laikens books next, but I’m holding out for Shy’s I think it’s going to be a heartbreaker.

Thoroughly enjoyed
I really enjoy listening to Catherine Cowles books, although I actually haven't managed to listen to the other in this series yet, so this book can certainly be read as a standalone.
Addie and Beckett were perfect for each other, Addie had a horrible past but her friends and Beckett were always by her side, this is a romantic suspense which I love and the story completely grips you from the first chapter and was an emotional roller-coaster.
Ava Erickson was the perfect narrator for Addie and really brought her to life and Sebastian York was a great Beckett too.
I devoured this book and it will certainly go into my re-reads pile!

My favorite of the series!
Hidden Waters
The Tattered and Torn Series, Book 3
By: Catherine Cowles
Narrated by: Ava Erickson, Sebastian York
Every time. It happens every time. Catherine Cowles pulls me in and makes me feel. This third book in the Tattered and Torn series ripped my heart apart and put it back together. Addie is looking to start a new life, away from her past, her father and the abuse. Beckett is coming home to make up for time lost. Now each finds together they will find healing they both desperately need. But it's not all that easy! Cowles loves to gives us a romance with meat. Addie has a horrible past that just will not leave her alone. And with Beckett trying to make amends, he is set on keeping her safe. It's suspenseful and scary at times, with Cowles giving us all the emotions and imagery to bring it alive. Our favorite characters from the first two books pop in and add that community feeling too. It's fantastic and my favorite of this series!
Ava Erickson and Sebastian York tell us the story. Do I need to say more? This team understands Catherine Cowles writing style and characters, filling us with suspense and romance. It could not have been a better narration.

Gah!! I loved this book!
Gah!! I loved this book!! Addie is such a brave and strong heroine! She has come out of a lifetime of abuse and is finding her way as an independent woman.
Addie Kemper is living in Wolf Gap trying to avoid run ins with her father and his cronies. She wants to be as “normal” as possible and not be seen and pitied as weak and damaged.
Beckett Easton has returned to Wolf Gap, taken over the medical practice and hopes to atone for the guilt he feels over his sister’s kidnapping and make up for the fact that he has stayed away from home so long.
As a favor to Hayes Easton who is letting her stay at his house since he is now living with Everly, Addie allows Beckett to live there temporarily.
“You you see my scars but never think I’m weak.”
I love that Becket sees past Addie’s shy exterior, allows her to stand on her own but is there when she needs support.
I listened to this story on audiobook and the narration was wonderful. It really made me feel like I was part of the story and not just reading it.
-5 Stars!-
