Summary

#1 Amazon Bestseller

New York Timesand USA Todaybestselling author Nicholas Sansbury Smith pulls the surviving divers into another heart-stopping adventure in Hell Divers XI: Renegades.

The secret location of the Vanguard Islands is no longer a secret …

Tired from years of fighting, Xavier passes the crown to a younger Hell Diver, Kade Long, and then sets off on the Sea Wolf with Magnolia to find Michael and his family. But the journey will push them both to their limit.

On the damaged airship Vanguard, Michael and crew are running out of water and must dive to a new location before attempting the perilous voyage across the Atlantic to a new home.

Back at the Vanguard Islands, King Kade hurries to prepare the rigs’ defenses against the Forerunner and his Knights of the Coral Castle. Fearing that X won’t return with the airship in time, Kade sends the elite Barracudas on a mission to find aircraft that will give the islands a fighting chance against the knights.

In the penultimate Hell Divers book, the survivors travel skewed and far-flung paths, but soon those paths will converge. The journey is almost over, so strap in for the last dives!

Just brilliant, story, characters, apocalyptic world and incredibly performed as usual by R C Bray. Can't wait for the next installment.

Absolutely loved it

I'm not just talking about this particular book, but the series as a whole. I loved every single one thus far. If you're a fan like me of post apocalyptic Sci fi then you REALLY need this series in your life. One word.....Amazing!

Just as good & bingeable as the 10 before it

Up to the usual standard with this series, have made it through these 11 consecutively with only brief breaks in between. Solid and dependable performance, maybe a little low on action but sometimes that's needed.

One thing that takes me out of it though is the mispronunciation of every location name... I get that it's supposed to be the whole "lost to time" thing but the people have strong knowledge of animals, colloquial phrases, even movies from the past, but somehow the pronunciation of the name of every continent, country, city, town, river, mountain etc etc etc is completely lost? Even Timothy Pepper, as an AI programmed before the war, somehow doesn't remember the correct pronunciation? It's so jarring and seemed far more prevalent in this edition

Not the best, but still enjoyable

It felt like a lot of filler story with the only major storyline taking place in the last 2 hours. Still an enjoyable book, and the next book should be back to its usual standard and keeping the stort moving. RC Bray was great as always.

Bray brings his A game

While the plot is starting to wear out it’s welcome at this point as it retreads familiar tropes, between some truly great characters and Bray’s faultless performance, it’s still as engaging as ever. Roll on the big finale.
