no details on gesalt
this book is really poor and will give you no details on what real Gestalt therapy is or how it is used in practice. as always with the centre of excellence, they try to cover too many topics instead of sticking to the subject matter. this books gives you a run down of therapy. albeit in brief, anxiety, sugar, studies in rats, none of which is gestalt therapy. if you are a person wanting to learn more about this subject, chances are you are all ready more than familiar with therapy and the basics and want to expand your knowledge on modalities.

Struggled to stay on track
This book struggles to connect one sentence to the next. It could be good as a very brief introduction to gestalt therapy, but will give no meaningful insights into the modality. I found that the sentences jumped about from topic to topic, and feel it has been very poorly written.

Disappointed
I’m a counselor educator and wanted to learn more about Gestalt to better guide students. I was quite disappointed, as the book only described a little of the theory. It was more about history & general principles of conducting therapy, and much of it was clearly from a CBT approach.

NOT Gestalt therapy
This is not representative of what Gestalt therapy is. It felt like listening to a lecturer in a survey class discussing a modality they know very little about and trying to cushion the information with general advice on self care. This was an utter waste of time.

The Whole is Greater than the sum of it's parts !!
Have always thought this is the best school of thought in the Psychology of psychologies, it seems to be more complete in it's philosophy, more whole, more complete.
To watch or listen to Fritz Pearls in action is just "the best."
Fritz the "Father of Gestalt Psychology" is a must read for any psychology student, any student of human behavior.
Good concept, good theory, good philosophy.

demand better for your time
Short, slowly delivered, mostly filler material. Very lttle explicitly regarding theory. Really just a high school psych recap and the audacity to talk about preparing for practice.
