Summary

Some art takes on a life of its own. A beautiful house. A loving family. Two kids, a dog, and a tenure-track professorship teaching art at the local university. Dan Rineheart is living the dream. But all dreams must end.

When an anonymous painting arrives at the university, Dan is tasked with uncovering the artist. No title. No name. No signature or frame. It’s a disturbing work of grotesque perfection. A work of art...that changes with each viewing. So begins the nightmare. Where painted clocks tick-tock in the dark hours before dawn. Where shadow-wrapped children stalk the halls of a once happy home. Where all paths lead to a forsaken artist and their impossible creation. This is the nightmare Dan Rineheart must enter before it shatters his sanity and devours his family.

“There would be no happy ending”

Gripping and intense throughout. I’d already listened to book 1 and thought it was great and this didn’t disappoint either. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
The narration is brilliant too. Great character voices and the intensity and atmosphere Tom gets across is amazing.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Best Book I’ve Listened to this year!

Wow! The detail and character development in the story is incredible.

Human failings start slow but build to an entirely unique ending.

Tom Jordan brings this story to a level of realism that is Master Level story telling!

Beyond Excellent !

Be prepared to be drawn in and not able to escape this psychological thriller of a storyline! This listener cannot say enough good things about the thought processes of the author who was able to intertwine the numerous characters and their lives, along with the narrator's voices & tone that brought each of these characters to life!

This needs to be a movie!!

1st, Tom Jordan is probably my favorite narrator on audible. The clarity and fluctuations in his voice just take you through the story perfectly.....give this man a raise!!.

The story was amazing. It was scary & thrilling and I just couldn't stop listening.

When I first downloaded the book, I believe it says it's 12 hours long and I thought I'm never going to get through it.
I got through it in 2 days.... I mean I had to sleep!!!

This is my first book by Andrew Van Wey. What an amazing writer! I mean the details...From what the characters were feeling, what the characters were seeing I felt myself in each character's shoes, from the mother, the father to the children. Just superb storytelling.I want to be in his brain!! LOL!!

I highly recommend this audible book. Be prepared to get pulled into the canvas. 😉

Chilling.

The story is chilling. Quite the psychological thriller. Tom Jorden’s performance is impeccable. The story blurs the line between art and reality.

Really, Really well Done!

I have never listened to this author Andrew Van Wey before, I got this book from the narrator to listen and leave a review. After I finish this review I will be listening to this book again. I also will be looking for more by Andrew Van Wey.

it is a thrill ride, from the beginning. It is well placed in the writing and the characters. I don't usually listen to the drama stuff, this felt like a mystery and psychological thriller.
I don't want to give it all away. Just want to let other readers/listeners know don't pass this up! you will not be disappointed.
the narrator well its Tom Jordan so he did what he does and he brought the story to my ear and I am going to listen again!
thank you to Andrew Van Wey and Tom Jordan! I appreciate you both!

Great narrative and the story was descriptive and very good. A must read. Never heard of the author but listening to StephenKing and others I figured why not. Well worth it.

Great story. Excellent narration.

This novel kept me guessing. The perfect amount of twists and turns. Not my typical genre but I found myself hooked.

I’m a huge fan of Tom Jordan’s narration and representation of all the characters big and small.

Talk about Stranger Things!!

Wow…this was a lot to wrap my head around!! It all started with a painting…and Professor Daniel Rineheart’s perfect life begins to unravel. The family’s dog goes missing and Dan starts to see and hear things going bump in the night. Is it all real or imagined? Great tale with excellent narration that keeps you intrigued.

Misogynist tripe

Rarely wrote reviews. Try to be an “ if you can’t say anything nice…“ kind of person. But this is just toxic and not entertaining. Skip.
