Summary

When Kynan McGrath approached me about joining Jameson Force Security, I jumped at the chance. Just call me Dozer Burney, one half of the genius duo who keeps the team at the forefront of security technology. The move from NASA to Jameson also put me back on the East Coast, closer to those who mean the most to me.

Jessica Anderson has been my best friend since college. A single mom who found herself mixed up with a dangerous man years ago, she’s been living a safe, quiet life in Miami after helping police put him behind bars. We both knew her safety, and that of her daughter, was reliant on him staying locked up. So when I see an alert that he’s escaped from his maximum security prison, I know where he’s heading to exact his revenge.

Now it’s a race against time to get to Jessica before he does.

Protecting her with my life is easy, because there’s one thing I’ve never admitted to anyone, not even myself—I have been in love with Jessica Anderson since the day I met her. And if we both make it out alive, I’ll make sure she knows it every day for the rest of our lives.

I think of this one as a fast paced read on an afternoon. I just didn't vibe with it 100%. Felt like Dozer and Jessica got involved too fast and Granted Dozer and Jessica previously knew each other but I feel like a lot of story was missing overall because it was more telling in a conversation with other people. I'm still going on with this series.

Narrators Sean Crisden (I loved his narration), Adenrele Ojo (a few times she seemed to over due it for me, but overall good).

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Jameson Force Security! Bring it on!

It's so good to be back with the Jameson Force Security crew and I am so happy to finally get Dozer's story! He is one I have been interested in, the computer nerd and I couldn't wait to see who would steal his heart. And who knew it would be someone he has known forever? Jessica has been part of a trio of friends and he was the odd man out. But the best friend relationship has surpassed and grown deeper over the years, as Jessica raises Thea. Now as danger has come to Jessica, full force, Dozer comes to her aid. But will it be soon enough? What a fun and exciting story! Dozer is a protector, and literally tries but fails at hiding his true feelings.Jessica is a warrior! I love her spirit and fierceness, doing her best to keep not only her daughter, but Dozer safe. Plus we get an array of interesting secondary characters, like Dozer's dad and Jessica's mom. Could there be a spark there? And as always, I love coming home to Pittsburgh to see all the familiar people and their true loyalty to each other. Love, love, love this story!

To make it even better, we have Sean Crisden and Adenrele Ojo bring this gem to life. Crisden has a voice that melts my heart, but he also can add that provocation of anger and fierce protectiveness. I love it! Ojo compliments his voice as Jessica, bringing true love, motherly instinct and incredible strength to her character. This team is perfect for these characters and made the listen.

Fantastic Story, Characters & Narration🎧WTG Dozer!

It is great to be back in Sawyer Bennett’s “Jameson Force Security” world again, a series full of amazing characters and storylines, storylines that are captivating from start to end. This ninth book is the long awaited story for Dozer Burney and the wait was so worth it. Kynan McGrath recruited Dozer for his smarts, the man is a tech genius and not your typical nerdy egghead either, it is his chosen profession because he is good at what he does and he enjoys helping people. He works closely with Bebe Grinshaw, Jameson’s other tech guru, and the two have become good friends. When an alert goes off from one of the tracking programs Bebe created informing him that Ivan Borovsky escaped prison and Dozer knew the first place Borovsky would go to and who was he was after, his friend Jessica “Jess” Anderson, in Miami. Jessica did not know the type of man Borovsky was when she first met him, but as soon as she found out, she reported him and helped put him in jail. With the help of Kynan and the team, he gets to Miami in time to bring Jessica to safety, not without incident, though. He brings Jessica, her daughter and mom back to the safety of Jameson’s building in Pittsburgh. JFS joins the manhunt for Borovsky and Dozer is determined to get him before he tries anything with Jessica. Dozer and Jessica harbored feelings for each other, but they never acted on them, afraid it would jeopardize the friendship that they had, plus there were other complications. I loved how everything played out in this wonderful friends to lovers romantic suspense, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, some angst, thrilling and suspenseful moments and a loving romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another amazing story, it was great to this team in action again and i am looking forward to what comes next for these fantastic characters.

🎧📚🎧 And for the impressive narration, Sawyer Bennett cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Sean Crisden and Adenrele Ojo are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Crisden nailed it as Dozer, brought out all his amazing traits and made him shine, Ojo did the same for Jessica, both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers were a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for this fabulous listen.

4.5 Friends to lovers stars

Dozer Burney has always been quietly working away at his desk, in the background of Jameson Force Security. We know nothing of his personal circumstances except that he was poached by Kynan from NASA, he’s Bebe’s best friend, and he’s a whiz with computers and technology. Finally we get his story, and what a story. It turns out Bebe is not his only best friend, no he has a girl down in Miami he’s been in love with for years, and she really needs his help right now because her life is in immediate danger. Dozer doesn’t hesitate he leaves Pittsburgh and heads straight to Miami, just in the nick of time, to rescue Jessica and her 7 year old daughter (his god daughter, Thea). Now he must keep her safe whilst tracking down an escaped convicted and delusional killer. Jameson Force Security to the rescue. Lots of action, of course some sexy time, and an addictive and entertaining storyline that kept me riveted throughout. I’m loving everything Jameson Force Security - it’s a tight knit group of friends who want to do right by the innocent. A force to be reckoned with that I will be sad to say goodbye to. We are assured though of one last book. I cannot wait.
The audio version is narrated by Sean Crisden and Adenrele Ojo (new narrator to me, and I absolutely loved her). Both narrators were perfect for the part, it almost appears almost as if they really are Dozer and Jessica. It made for a perfect audio.
