Summary

Broccoli and her closest friends have discovered a terrible plot...one that might spark a war between the Nesting Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sylphfree.

It’s up to the three of them to cross an entire continent in order to reach Sylphfree and undo the machinations of Broccoli’s mysterious nemesis. Navigating such a grand distance won’t be easy, however, not with dastardly sky pirates, dangerous dungeons, and adorable new friends to distract the bunch along the way! At this rate, Broccoli’s inability to get anywhere without sticking her neck into trouble is going to make Amaryllis shed feathers.

This series gets better and better

These tails are worth twice what I paid for them. A happy surprise. More complex than I would have credited. Wonderfully silly stuff with a core of honest storytelling, much in a similar vein to Terry Pratchett.

Revitalized my love for LitRPG/Gamelit

This is for all of you that's bored with the edgy and gritty protagonists.

These adventures explores the wonders of a new world, while keeping the feeling of childlike innocence.

Three times a winner!

I love this series and took a day off work to listen to the whole thing in 1 go. Needless to say, i wasn't disappointed. If Dungeon Crawler Carl exemplifies the American LitRPG novel and He Who Fights With Monsters the Aussie LitRPG genre, then RavensDagger is the champion of Canadian LitRPG. I hope you enjoy the positivity, light hearted humor and cute as a button protagonist as much as I did and do.

Author tries really hard to take something back.

I love this series, and even enjoyed this book. I also generally don't write reviews only click on a number of stars, but i'm giving a lower score and i feel i should explain it.

About a third of the book is wasted as the author tries to take something back, but no upset fans. It's like having two characters in a book say "we are both consenting adults, and we both think that we are okay with this happening." It just feels really forced in an effort to make fans okay with her chose.

I feel this could have been done more naturally, with out such a violent and rushed focus.

Fun adventure, terrible take on romance

Let just pull the band-aid off and tackle the biggest problem of the book, Owen character feeling like she just got retconed. In the previous book Owen was madly in love with Broccoli, now she ony mildly attractive. Broccoli also already know how Owen feel about her despite everything being first pov of her and being clueless. And they introduced a character for Owen to fall in love with so Owen confession to Broccoli have less weight and so it doesn't feel as bad. Just overall terrible, terrible and lazy writting overall on a gay corner the author wrote herself into. I was looking forward to either them dating or the rejection and them consoling and continuing to be friend and showing the hurt and love that come with that, but instead I just wanted them to get over that ordeal as fast as possible. Not to say the scene were all that bad, but they were underwhelming.

Luckily once the adventure begins, the book is overall is everything people love from the series so far. outward positivity to make new friends and end conflicy, daring rescue attempt from sky pirate and more dungeon adventure. Overall its anothet fun volume that just happen to fumble when it came to the romance element.

Least favorite in series but still good

This book did not progress the story line or character development all that much. I feel like it should have been labeled book 2.5 instead of 3. Buhr is a fairly good narrator as far as characterizations go but her pronunciations are atrocious. This is particularly true of nautical terms such as gunwale, forecastle, et al. Don't get me started on "miss cheevious". It is my worst pet peeve.

Another great entry

A whole lot of fun and just as wonderful characters. My only complaint is that there was little movement in the overall story, but lots of character growth. Hope the next one won’t take too long to be released.

No one changes or grows just spinning wheels

I loved volumes 1 and 2. Volume 3 on the other hand is a really big step back. The main character hasn't grown at all emotionally. She hugs people who don't want hugs, which is rude. She does lots of stupid things, more than in the previous books, with little to no repercussions. Halfway through I was starting to root for the baddies because our Bun ignores literally everyone's advice, and somehow becomes the caption of a ship with exactly zero experience with ships, much less leading them.
About half of this book seems to be filler, with little scenes that do nothing to progress the plot or grow the character. Lots of just spinning wheels with nothing to show for it. But then this isn't really a novel. It is a collection of short stories thrown together. None of them affect any of the others. None of them need to be in any particular order because they don't have anything to do with the stories that come after them. This is the 4th litRPG book I have read recently that has this problem. All of them are in different series, with different authors. But they are basically collections of short stories tacked together to make novels. It is sad and I hope this changes.
I guess I should mention that somehow clueless mc just suddenly out of nowhere 'knows' her sidekick has been madly in love with her the whole time with no setup or anything. Really weird way to write away the romantic conflict that could have happened.
No one changes or grows, just our Bun being, now, annoyingly perky and intrusive.

A funny and cute story that entertains. The story continues and leads to the next episode.

Light and fun adventure that could be considered Young Adult. It keeps you engaged moving from one misadventure into the next. As soon as you finish you are ready for the next chapter!

surprisingly intricate magic + simply fun and cute

This is a fun story about cute girls doing cute things in a well developed magical RPG. It delivers on its premise well, and I laughed a lot throughout.
