Summary
In a world where all magic has been captured into cards, those who can build a deck have the power.
The most Arthur could hope for was to someday earn a trash-tier spell card. When fate grants him a Master of Skills card, he's thrust into a world of opportunity and danger.
To survive and grow strong, Arthur must learn skills. All the skills.

Definitely worth a credit!
Actually a really good listen. I'm quite fussy with my LitRPG's but this one is good.
Good story, good writing and good narration. Just download it - you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic first title - excited for book 2!
Really enjoyed the writing style and characters - the magic system and litrpg elements blend in really well without over explanation.

Awesome
This has been the best book of the LitRpg genre I’ve listened to in a long time.
Great storyline with well defined characters.
I can’t wait for the next instalment and hopefully many more after that.
The narrator was on point and brought the whole story to life.
I can’t recommend this book enough.

Really fun story and mc is interesting
So I enjoy the story a lot, there is a lot of moral conflict and lessons that the mc learns and tries to adapt too. He is only a child 13 years old but suffers a lot, he has to make difficult decisions and then survive. He becomes quite scheming and he is always smart, although his morals sometimes conflicts his feelings. All this together makes the world feel real and the story interesting in itself. There isn’t much i can critique since I really enjoyed it, just remember that this story is a dark one, many unfair and cruel stuff just happens although for myself nothing highly disturbing or triggering.

A delve into a world of magical cards
Imagine a world where magical creatures like dragons are born with magical cards or shards. Furthermore, the rich and noble get all the good stuff, while most of the rest have to live in the toil of feudalism.
The main character is a boy in a scourge town so miserable it has a number (49) instead of a name. An interesting event occurs, but he can't tell anyone about it. Also, the Baron's thugs are about, forcing the whole town into slave labor.
After the event, the boy is sent to help in the kitchen, and he finds he's *really* good at chopping carrots.
This is a very enjoyable story within the backdrop of miserable feudalism. The main character is very likable, it's easy to root for him.
Highly recommended.

Fun, unique, and stands out within a crowded genre
Fun, unique, and a great find in the heavily oversaturated market of game-style fantasy literature. I enjoy the magic system, and I am always a sucker for dragons. Having read ahead on Patreon, I can confidently say the story only gets better. Looking forward to more!

Damn
Damn you for the ending. I want the next one. Really the only complaint I would have it Spent too much time on his younger self The majority of the book is of him being 12 years old Maybe 4 hours of the book is him at least He is 16 when the book is done The characters are likable Even his friend I took a chance on this bookAnd I'm definitely getting the next one Hopefully it doesn't take 2 years to write the next book like most of these books

It was cool for a while but he's far too ignorant
Edit: After cooling off I decided to finish the book. I revised it from a 3 to a 4 star. I'll provide my opinion on the rest of the book at the bottom.
I gave up when he decided he wanted to be a dragon rider despite the many many many hints and literally being kidnapped off the city streets by a dragon that didn't give two shits about his opinion.
I would be livid and ranting up a storm about these people just deciding what to do with me and not caring at all for my opinion on the matter.
I would have demanded they take me back immediately and not tell them shit about me.
I am legitimately really angry at that entire hive.
I was screaming at my phone saying 'No!' as he was deliberating.
When he said yes I was flabbergasted.
I legitimately don't understand what the hell he's thinking. I know he's a kid but at a certain point I just can't take anymore.
The concept is extremely cool and interesting but it's just ruined by this kind of MC that literally has to make every mistake along the way before he figures out what to do.
You'd figure the life he's had until now would at least engender some skepticism or weariness when dealing with most people.
And the fact that his dad never taught him any self-defense whatsoever is ridiculous in this kind of world.
The MC has been dragged around from place to place with very little input on his part, if any. It's annoying to follow a MC that has no agency.
Edit: It got better after the time skip, but he still does some pretty unreasonable things.
Seems he's the type to hold a grudge apparently. He's got plot armor luck that's for sure. The way he found that thing at the end was straight up laughable.
Also, I feel really bad for that dragon in the interlude. She just wanted a new rider so she could 'be happy again'. Real stab to the heart there.
Seeing Dragons reduced to flying dogs is a little weird to. They are almost universally geared and respected in the Fantasy Genre.

great buy it
this book is a perfect reason why I do not buy books with only one book in the series. don't really want to spoil it for anybody but I do advise you by this book whether it be just the one out or multiple in the series. hopefully the author comes out with the next one pretty soon.

An amazing well written book.
With how it ended I wish the next book was already out. The biggest problem albeit minor is that there is only one narrator that is male and absolutely can't do female voices that's a problem with most audio books though. I was they'd give authors bigger cuts so this was easier to afford for them.
