Summary

Audiobook four of the Ciaphas Cain series.

Listen to it because:

It's a tale of Cain alone (well, except for Jurgen, but he hardly counts), surrounded by enemies and desperate for a good cup of tanna tea....

The story:

Once again, reluctant hero Commissar Cain is catapulted into glory in the fourth instalment of this tremendously popular series. Escaping from a disastrous space battle, the commissar and his malodorous sidekick Jurgen crash-land behind enemy lines. Even the sly Cain can't avoid a straight fight this time, as the only way out is to round up what few troops they can find and fight their way back to safety. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of barbaric alien orks stand in their way.

Great

The book itself and the narration is great but it hasn’t been grouped properly with the other books in the series- all the others have Series: Ciaphas Cain: Warhammer 40,000.

Easy read and funny

The Ciaphas Cain books are excellent. They are easy to read, funny and puts the grime dark of the 40K universe in to a more human format of people just getting on with making the best of it.

Another great Cain audio book 'nuff said

I love these series of books by Sandy Mitchell, painting a more realistic approach to the grim and dark universe of 40k. A light dusting of humour to keep it entertaining. Regarding the audio book, masterfully read, with each character being brought to life by the different narrators.

A must read for any 40k of sci-fi lovers out there. keep them coming

Felicia!!!

This book is fantastic fun. Im glad to finally reach Cains first meeting with Felicia who shows up in other adventures. The first battle for Perlia being such a turning point in Cains career makes this a must read.

I love this series

This series gives the entire setting of Warhammer 40 K a human feeling in a setting, dominated by aliens, genetically enhanced, super soldiers, the idea of an average human being, strapping on armor, taking up his rifle and defending the imperium is fun, and this book in particular was well done by audible

Simply green

I have a huge love for ork and Ciaphas Cain books and this book just scratched the itch for both. Being halfway done with the series I can say I will finish all of the books and suggests anyone debating if they should read them to do give them a read.

Great read start to finish.

There are a few spots that felt like the pacing winter slower than I expected, but i think it was intentional and probably why it wasn't a struggle get past certain slow parts. Definitely love the series and this is nothing less than exceptional.

Amazing Audio book

Well written. Engaging story. Phenomenal performance by a group of talented voice actors. Do you want a hero with imposter syndrome genuine care for those around him and a steadfast belief in maintaining the image he’s coveted and this is the book for you. One of the best books in the Warhammer 40 K universe.
