Summary

A veteran hunter. An unimaginable world filled with monsters and magic. Destiny awaits.

When fate brought me to the fantasy world of Aurilon, I thought I'd seen everything.

If I only knew how wrong I was.

Now, I’ve discovered monsters are real, they’re stunningly beautiful, and they need my help. In this world, men’s cores are cursed, preventing them from cultivating and achieving incredible power. Fortunately, I’m not from this world.

With several amazing monster girls at my side, I'll forge a new destiny and ascend to heights I’d only ever dreamed of. But first, I must create a safe haven in the wilds to protect those who have been hunted for far too long.

My greatest challenge lies ahead. Spirit to cultivate. Monster girls to rescue. Skills to increase. And a boatload of enemies to eliminate.

I’ve never come back from a hunt empty-handed, and I’m not about to start now.

Not so good.

Performance is so-so as both VAs have some variety to them but not convincing enough to make you believe that each character is different.

Story itself has a some serious issues. So you have powers... but somehow despite being more well equipped and having no real compelling reason to surrender, you should... surrender? Logic. And how the heck is it always one of your companions that says to trust them and you get into deeper crap and yet you keep doing what they say... when each and EVETY time it results in the mc suffering a crippling injury right off the bat when he could have just gone lethal and wrapped it up nice and quick? Wuxia cultivating nonsense isn't even an excuse - it's just bad writing.

And no, don't give me some gripe about how the villain in the first book is menacing. He is not. MC is just incompetent. "Well he's a dang menace but hopefully he's done for but I doubt it so no I shouldn't check despite having been a hunter and tracking prey to finish the job is literally what I'm supposed to be good at" or my favourite "Ladies we should never split up." followed by "I'll lead them away but it doesn't count as being split up because I got dainty damsel syndrome and despite my ability to detect ambushes I get ambushed and get brought back with a knife to my throat so we end up together so it doesn't count as splitting up"…?

Yeah. Issues.

Amateur Hour

Note: I only could get through 50 minutes of this before stopping. Any spoilers will reflect that.

Terrible Male Narrator. Speed reads without any emotion. Unless you are listening close, you wouldn't even tell if he's reading exposition or the main character is actually talking. It feels like he's reading a textbook, not a story.

Female Narrator is okay. She was only given speaking lines so can't really judge off of that.

Audio Quality and Volume were completely off. Male narrator is super quiet while female narrator is super loud, which makes having the volume level high enough to hear him makes the female narrator scream into your ears.

Female Narrator audio set up was completely broken. It sounded like her lines were recorded off of a CB radio.

Story, what I was able to get through before tapping out, was sub-par to decent at best. Male Narrator didn't make it any better by how emotionless and bored he did the Narration.

I would refund if I was able to. There are better ones out there and stay away from anything that has this Male Narrator in.

I wanted to like it

The first book seemed okay the second was annoying and after that it just went down hill. Didn't 5 star the performance cause the male narrator couldn't keep his voices in order. I won't return it cause four books for one was a good deal but I won't read anything else by this author.

2 Thumbs up

These books have a great variety of creatures, they are fun, and have plenty of hot erotica!

ugh..

why does the main narrator near whisper while ALL other voices are 5x louder? I struggle to hear him talk the entire time while everyone else is nearly yelling in comparison. whoever edited this is terrible.

Frustrating

Ended up giving up and not finishing at book 4, MC acts like he's a tough competent badass, but never misses an opportunity to let people walk all over him.

Meh

First book was the best. Books 2 & 3 I would only rate as two star. Lots of hot sex though so that's a plus. My main issue is obviously stupid decisions made for no other reason than to drive the plot forward.

loved it

Brilliant series all in one place. The male actor is phenomenal. I started this one on ebook with book 1 a while back when we were still locked down and enjoyed, but then started day working again when COVID lessened and ran out of reading time (switched to audible). Saw this pop in my feed and this just got me through two full workdays and their commutes. Started at book 2 (since I read book 1) and loved it! The last book blew my mind on how he got all that story development in there.

Wow - what an awesome ride!

I picked this one up for a road trip and found myself staying in my car so I could keep listening.

This series follows an experienced hunter who ends up traveling to a new world which happens to be filled with all sorts of magical creatures, most of which are beautiful monster girls.

I loved the different personalities of each of the women, especially the cow girl, Chloe. She runs the tavern and just has one of those bartender personalities that makes you want to keep coming back.

Logan has his share of adventures throughout the series, saving women, bonding with them, and learning how to cultivate spirit to become stronger.

There are a few big baddies, ultimately leading up to a big showdown at the end. I think there’s a little something for everyone in this one.

The end wrapped it up nicely as well, so I felt good about it and really hope there is some way for the series to continue.

The narrators did a great job and kept me engaged the entire way through.
