About this listen
Top 100 international Amazon best seller
Issa Dubova is the queen of cloudy diamonds: a Bratva princess.
My reluctant new wife.
A pretty bargain in exchange for the names of the men who killed my father.
I'm a black suit of spades: determined to bury both her and my demons.
I never asked to see the shape of her heart.
I never asked for her to fill the blank spaces of mine.
But the mafia wants her secrets.
I'm not the first she betrayed.
And Issa? Sweet, not-so-innocent Issa?
She's now a debt no sinner can pay.
Black Skies Riviera is a heart-stopping arranged marriage mafia romance set on the French Riviera with NO cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA. For mature listeners only.

Fantastic
I received this audiobook at my request via promo code from The Flock and this is my honest voluntary review.
I loved this dark romance set in the French Riviera, it involves an arranged marriage between Casino Underworld wildcard, Aiden Knight and Issa, the disgraced second daughter of a Bratva Kingpin. Their union is as much a punishment to Aiden as it is an insult to her father, seems some of the higher powers dont quite trust the independent Fixer. What starts as a simple path to revenge for Aiden goes much deeper than either of them could have realised when their connection ignites. Issa had been working on a plan of her own to help escape the dark world that had engulfed most of her life, even if meant double crossing her husband. I'm not going to give out too many spoilers but if you love high stakes drama with hot steamy scenes then Elizabeth and Gregory's performance is not to be missed.

Mafia Romance
Black Skies Riviera by Catherine Wiltcher is a standalone mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Elizabeth Russell and Gregory Salinas.
This is the second book of Catherine's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Aiden and Issa. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Elizabeth and Gregory did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like mafia romances, enemies to lovers romance, or romantic suspense.

My Thoughts on Black Skies Riviera
This was an excellent mafia/cartel/crime family story with a leading man who is unapologetically not a good guy, and a leading lady who gets in over her head and manages to crawl under the skin of a very dangerous man. There were so many secrets and surprises and unexpected plot twists throughout, but it certainly kept things interesting. Several characters were not what they originally appeared to be, and it made it unclear who to trust. I loved that we got this story in dual POV but even with that, there were plenty of moments that something was revealed by one of the main characters and I didn’t see it coming. Loyalties were tested in this book but in the end, everything worked out just the way I always hope for in my romance.
Both narrators did a great job, although I will admit it was sometimes weird for me to have the female narrator speak in a Russian accent but when the inner dialogue was being spoken the accent was either not as strong or not really there. It didn’t stop me from enjoying the book overall, but it was just a thought that popped up often enough as I listened to those chapters from Issa’s POV. I still wouldn’t hesitate to listen to either narrator again.

Intense, exciting story
I really love this book, the second in Catherine Wiltcher's series, with the intense Raven/Aiden and the loyal, huge hearted Issa. With a plot reeling around the burning desire for revenge and the protective instincts of a loving heart, both characters display the two halves of the same coin, that of passionate commitment to their individual causes.
Overall, this audio adaptation is very good, though I have to say, in all honesty, that the 'English' accents of both narrators were, frequently, somewhat grating, for example the pronunciation of quayside as kway side???? It's simply pronounced 'key' side. I know it's a bit petty, but, so often an English accent becomes some kind of horrible hybrid of Etonian, weird cockney, with smattering of Australian thrown in. Both of these narrators are skilled and experienced, but we don't speak like a cross between the Artful Dodger and Prince Charles.
Again, great story, dark and intense, with two narrators who are also gifted story tellers.💖💖💖💖

Aiden and Issa!
Aiden is not a good man and has never and will never claim to be one. He has spent the last 14 years preparing for the day when he will finally be able to exact the vengeance he needs, however he now finds out for that to happen he not only needs to marry Issa but get something from her that she doesn’t want to give up.
Issa has her own reasons for agreeing to the marriage however her reasons come from love rather than vengeance. She is no meek mafia princess but a strong woman who isn’t about to let anyone stand between her and what she wants and that includes Aiden.
Two people who find themselves on opposite sides take us on a journey filled with secrets, suspense and steam as under the direst of circumstances realize they are destined to be much more than enemies. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Aiden and Issa… a dark mafia romance!
I listened to this book in a couple of sittings. It’s engaging and kept me on edge the whole time. Issa is not a damsel in distress and I loved that, while Aiden was heartless… until he wasn’t. I liked that Aiden was a bad boy and he loved it, but treated Issa so good. Well, the whole plot has its twists and turns, specially the one at the end. That Bratva family is out of this world wicked. The end was awesome and the narrators made it that much more enjoyable.

I expected a dark romance but got so much more
This is the first book by this author I have listened to, I wanted to listen because I love the mafia/bratva and enemies to lovers genres and this book fits neatly into both of those. I was expecting a dark romance but what I got was so much more. Aiden and Issa's story is about an arranged marriage between two people who have secrets and who really don't want to marry but who are forced together for reasons even they are unaware of. The characters are so well defined you can't help but be drawn into their story. It's a story that is full of suspense and has so many twists and turns happening, I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering where the author would take the story next and who was good, bad or something in between?
Where would the author take the story next?
Aiden's arrogant and can be evil but I found myself enthralled by him, I fell a little in love with his character which is so different from Issa's. She's strong and feisty when she needs to be and yet possesses such a gentle nature, I loved the way she showed an unshakeable loyalty to her family. You wouldn't think to put these two together yet their chemistry is palpable and so hot! The emotions evoked by their story broke me at times, so many lies as well as murder, and tragedy I had no idea how things would end for them but thankfully the author made everything right, in my eyes anyway, before the end of the book.
This author's descriptive writing style is excellent, she made me feel like I was there, her world-building and the way she described each character, each scene all added immensely to my enjoyment of this story. A story which was brought to life so well for me by the narration of Elizabeth Russell and Gregory Salinas they did a wonderful job, and I have to say being English I thought his English accent was so well done.
If you, like me, enjoy stories about the criminal underworld, Mafia/Bratva as well as arranged marriages with a HEA then download this book, sit back and enjoy!
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
