Summary

Top 100 international Amazon best seller

From Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher comes Corrupt Gods, a brand-new arranged-marriage mafia duet.

A Santiago is a lesson in ruin.

A Carrera bleeds for revenge.

Thalia Santiago is the daughter of my enemy. A beautiful rebel with a single cause. Impulsive. Fearless. And ripe for her father's undoing.

I recognized her the moment she stepped into my casino. I watched her start the fires that burned her pretty fingers, and then I poured gasoline on the flames. Now she's in my debt, and her dues are a shiny gold ring and a vow of deception.

I'll bend her. I'll break her. I'll turn our mockery of a marriage into a battlefield. And that river of bad blood that flows between our two families? I'll make it an ocean of hate.

This is book one of a new dark romance duet. Tainted Blood, book two, is now live.

Bad Blood is set in the Santiago and Carrera worlds, but it is not necessary to have listened to either trilogy beforehand.

Dark Mafia Romance at its best!

Bad Blood, the first book of the corrupt Gods duet, is a brilliantly written and phenomenal collaboration by two terrific authors, Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher. Each adds their own unique styles, combining two incredible talents while devising realistic and captivating characters. I soaked in every second of the story, and the second book can't come soon enough.

Thalia, a Kartel princess, is being blackmailed for a lump sum of money. To get her hand on that amount of cash, she is forced to count cards. Time for her to come up with the money is running out; she has no choice but to walk out of the security of her family's territory and straight into the lion's den. Panic gets her caught stealing and in debt to a Kartel prince from an opposing family. Santi is as brutal, cold, cruel, volatile, and distrustful as he is commanding. He is set on a path of vengeance and retaliation. The hatred between the two families runs deep, and retribution is the name of the game for Santi, even if it's coercing an enemy's daughter into marriage.

The storyline is fast-paced, gritty, thrilling, exciting, steamy, and thoroughly riveting. The combination of the various moving parts and stunning surprises made the storyline unpredictable and wholly engaging. As the story unfolds is like riding on a spiralling rollercoaster with one twist and turn after another. Thalia's sass and defiance with Santi's intensity made for explosive chemistry, charged, powered by passion and masked desire.

Incredible narration by Aaron Shedlock and Stephanie Nemeth Parker. Each added to the authenticity of the characters; I could feel the intensity of the emotions and connection. Aaron Shedlock as Santi was fantastic; I was both impressed and charmed by the accent. Bad Blood is exceptionally well-written with outstanding narration, one I'm HIGHLY recommending. .

BAD BLOOD

What the heck, NOOOOO!!!! I HATE the ending. Both girls got taken, well at least they will be together and hopefully not suffer much and they find them fast. They need to be found fast. I just hope both families get along and find them instead of fighting amongst themselves. I hate and like the end just because of the fact that both of the girls will be eachothers comfort in a way. F*$% I can't wait for the next book. I hope it comes out soon.

My Thoughts on Bad Blood

It was so exciting jumping back into the world of the Carreras. And it has me very interested in checking out the Santiagos. This definitely had a little bit of a different feel to it which I attribute to there being two authors on this one but it didn’t make it less of a completely captivating read. I liked the fact that both leading characters were from the cartel world even if they had different feelings about it. And I love that there’s this whole history between their families and a special history between them that is fueling this storyline along. I honestly enjoyed every moment of it until the very end. And even though I knew it was coming because I knew this was a duet, it still killed me to have it end where it did and to know that I now need to wait for the next book to come out on audio to be able to jump in and find out how this is resolved. But I’m also excited because not only do I have high hopes for book two but for more books from these two authors in future both together and separately. There were plenty of characters in this book that deserve to have their story told in my opinion. And I have my fingers crossed that I will get to hear those stories someday.
The narration was excellent. Aaron Shedlock speaking Spanish and with an accent was absolutely fantastic. Stephanie Nemeth Parker did very well too although I admit I expected her to have and accent as well. Overall I still enjoyed the performance and the story.

Cliffhanger wowza start to the series!

Santi and Thalia are extremely hot together. This was an explosive start to this series. And I loved how it tied into the Santiago cartel family. Thalia is caught counting cards in Santi’s casino but she hadn’t known Santi was there. She’s trying to save her sister and nothing will get in her way to do so. Ella is her sick sister who she will do anything for. The look back at how these two meet when they were children was memorable it seems for both.

The Santiago’s and the Carrera’s are rivalling Mafia families yet both despised this unknown threat and what they are doing to women.

This narration team was brilliantly cast. Stephanie’s soft voices were amazingly done. Lola as well as Thalia became alive in this awesome start to the series. And Aaron was just as awesome. His voice and persona were amazing for the mafia man who hides his feelings inside the brutal and demanding, yet caring and passionate man who may have just fell for Thalia the rival families Princess.

Then that explosive cliffhanger ending may be one of the most book hangovers I’ve ever experienced. I HAVE TO HAVE THE NEXT BOOK NOW please 😳

So good

Having listened to Cora’s Carrera Cartel books and loving them I was eager to get into this. Cora and Catherine have wrote the perfect book mixing both Cartel families together so they have to work together to save both Lola and Thalia .

Thalia and Sante!

Thalia was born and raised in a Columbian cartel, and it has been drilled into her that the Carrera family are there most bitter rivals. She will do anything to protect her sister which is how, unbeknown to her, she finds herself in the casino owned by Sante Carerra where she is under his control and about to become his reluctant bride.

Sante has been groomed to take over the Mexican Carerra cartel so ever action he takes and every decision he makes is scrutinized by those still in power, including his father. He is not about to pass up on the opportunity of having Thalia under his control, but he is about to find out that there is a lot more to Thalia and the situation than he believed.

Thalia is feisty so even though she may feel fear she isn’t about to show it which bodes well with her interactions as Sante as he is aware of the power he yields and having everyone following his dictates without a second thought. When they finally give into the chemistry between them they are thrown another twist which leads up to a cliffhanger that leaves us needing to know what the future holds for everyone involved. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they brought the sassiness of Thalia and the forceful personality of Sante to the forefront. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Dark Mafia Romance

Bad Blood by Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Stephanie Nemeth Parker. This is the first book in the Corrupt Gods Duet and is set in the Santiago and Carrera worlds. It is not necessary to read either trilogy beforehand.

I was so excited to see that Cora and Catherine teamed up on this duet. I absolutely loved both of their trilogy's and they definitely didn't disappoint on this book. I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The relationship between Thalia and Santi is messy but you can't help but root for them.

The book ends on a cliffhanger which wasn't a surprise since its part of a duet. I can't wait for Tainted Blood to be released on audio so I can get the rest of Thalia and Santi's story.

Aaron and Stephanie did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, arranged marriages, or romantic suspense.

Oh my, what a brilliant book!!

I can’t tell you how good this book is. The storyline is brutal. Performance from both Stephanie and Aaron is phenomenal. With fantastically written characters and a gripping storyline I can’t wait for the rest of this storyline to pan out.
