Summary

Zoey Daniels is becoming the very thing she once despised - fae. After Zoey and Ryker finally found their way to each other, they are torn apart by an ex-girlfriend, a stone, and mortality. Ryker's powers have fully adapted to Zoey, slowly killing him.

Now the mysterious feared demon, Vadik, has discovered their location in Peru and has taken Ryker and sold Zoey back to DMG. The very place which gave her life now might take it away. Or someone she loves…. Dr. Rapava is so obsessed with building an army against the fae, he will do anything to control Zoey and her newfound powers.

Zoey has to become an unfeeling, brainwashed soldier to survive. But when her survival depends on torturing one to keep another alive, she is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice. And neither choice is one she can live with.

And yes I have used a credit on the last instalment, how could I not? Love the monkey especially his last outburst “sugar tets” “honey melons” lmao.

Book 3 is just as interesting as 1 & 2

Now I can't wait to jump into book four. These books keep suprising you as you go.

A Drastic Descent for the Series

This series started off okay, and then the second book was unexpectedly more than okay. That's it. Stop there. This third installment is a waste of time with its poor writing and bad plot development. I was bored throughout most of it, and it hit one of my pet peeves of when there's a female protagonist who everyone falls in love with and it's never really clear why. I realized in this book that Stacey Marie Brown may never actually wrap up critical plot points introduced in any of the books in the series making this series an "enter at your own risk" situation.

Narration continued to be okay for me. It wasn't bad but not great either.

I only recommend this to people completely invested in the series who want to continue with it and see what might have a sliver of resolution by the end.

Only half a story

What disappointed you about Across the Divide?

The story is slowly creeping forward and when it finally shifts to a higher gear it stops. End of the book. Not a cliffhanger, the story stops. Very disappointing.

OMG!!!!! So sexy!!! Rhyker has a voice!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes!!! This series just keeps getting better and better each book. This third book has a surprise when you get to hear things from Rhyker's point of view halfway through with Zach narrating. Zach has such a sexy voice and he gives dimension and depth to Rhyker. Ugh! this series is so incredible!!!! I love it!

What other book might you compare Across the Divide to and why?

Jeanine Frosts books with Kat and Bones...

Have you listened to any of Amy Landon and Zach Villa ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes! This one definitely doesn't disappoint!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Dungeon Desires, and Destiny- Kinda cheesy, but I think it sums up the book well!!!

Any additional comments?

Amazing!!!! I can't wait for the audio version of the next book!!!

Emotional time for our characters

Zoey, Ryker, and even Sprig are put through the ringer here. This is a tough book in the series, especially as our main characters are quite literally divided through most of the book.

We get a peek at more of Ryker’s past, learn more about Vadik, and dig deeper into DMG.

And that ending?! Let’s just stay I started the next one immediately, just to see what was going to happen! 👀

What this book is giving:
✅ Lovers separated throughout most of book
✅ Ryker POV chapter!
✅ Who’s your Daddy? (but not in a sexy way)
✅ That darn stone!
✅ Cute Monkey Sprite still pulling on the heart strings

Look out for:
⚠️ Mentions of torture
⚠️ Mentions of child/spousal abuse

🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

𝑻𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒔: PNR Romance, Fae, Urban Fantasy, Enemies to Lovers
𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒆: 🌶️🌶️
𝑷𝑶𝑽: Duet Narration
𝑻𝑾: Loss of a family member, abuse received in foster care

Book 3 has us following Zoey to the DMG, but now she is their prisoner, returned to that sick doctor for testing. Thankfully her family has come for her so we still get Sprig, Cryogen, & Ryker’s showing their faces eventually. This book was the hardest of the 3 so far as it definitely takes a darker turn since we are stuck in the laboratory of one sick and twisted doctor. Dr. Rapava Seriously gives me the creeps.

Ok, I thought book 2s ending meant I needed to read book 3 asap, but that is nothing on this one. Instantly downloading the audiobook for book 4.

This was just like the first two books, this was another one I just couldn't put down & the audiobook was so well done. The narrator did an amazing job bring this story to life.

I am so ticked at the high reviews...

A story that drags.... drags.... and drags... then stops. No explanation.

Super disappointing and a waste of time.
