Summary

AL:ICE: Captain Jacob Thomas USMC is a divorced combat veteran just trying to get his life back on track. Returning to the Marine Corps after a failed attempt at reconciliation with his estranged wife, Jake volunteers for an experiment that catapults him into a future where humanity has been stripped of 200 years of technological advancements and more than half its population. With the help of a faceless benefactor named Alice, he starts a journey to put Earth back on a path to recovery.

AL:ICE-9: With the help of the ALICE systems, Jake Thomas has successfully faced off with the hostile NeHaw three times. As he works to assemble a space fleet to address the expanding NeHaw aggression, terrestrial challenges at home continue to pile up, and the threat of a two-front war looms ahead.

AL:ICE: Resurrection: With unexplained transmissions originating in Europe, and an alien visitor with questionable motives, Jake is awash in new challenges on Earth and in space. Can the activity in Europe be a sign of troubles to come, or is it an indication of allies waiting to be discovered?

AL:ICE: Space War: Jake finds himself once again fighting a two-front war, one in space and one on the home front.

Good story AI narrator

Great story, loved it, but you can't help but realise the Narrator has used AI to get paid. there was no humanity in his delivery.
Given its an Artificial Intelligence story it kinda works, but once you hear it you can't stop from hearing it.
That said will be listening again in the future as It's a great series!

Rather repetitive

Kind of ok. Perhaps I shouldn’t have listened to these books back to back. Started off well but then the story became a bit repetitive. By the time I got to the last book I had pretty much lost interest but was keen to see how it ended. It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend the series, but it’s not the best I’ve listened too

A worthy SciFi series

Capturing my interest from the outset is possibly getting tougher now that I've listened to some very impressive tales. However, Al:ICE is one I found entertaining, full of colourful characters and goals that highlighted potential differences between alien and human philosophies.

Interesting story, poor naration

The story is fine but the narrator can't do different voices or accents. He uses the same childish voice for all characters

Good story on the whole.

If you can get over the whole teenage boys wet dream, the robotic sounding narration and the poorly portrayed non American characters, it's a pretty good sci-fi story. I do wonder sometimes if it's the writer or narrator that decides to only use Brits that sound like they always wear their top hat and carry a cane when leaving the country manor. The writer should probably attempt to reform his understanding around the realities of. Women...
