Summary
From USA Today best seller Ella James—writing MM romance under the pen name Ellis James—comes an addictive enemies-to-lovers MM romance that audiences are calling one of the best love stories of the year.
It's true, I'm keeping secrets.
But I just found out one of his....
My new stepbrother is insufferable.
You'd think it wouldn't matter since I won't be here for long, but this guy gets under my skin like no one ever has. All-American, baby-faced, blue-eyed band dork and star soccer player. Everything about him is the picture of perfection—unlike me.
I don't think Do Gooder knows I'm starting senior year late. And he definitely doesn't know why. I've got secrets I'm taking with me to the grave.
Everyone thinks I moved to my dad's small town to play varsity football, but I've got other plans, and DG's trying to thwart them all. He's making my life worse than it already is.
Having him around is a damn plague. But I can fight back.
I found out a little secret about Mr. Perfect. He plays for the "other" team. That ball bat he's got stuffed into his gray sweatpants—it swings "that" way. The best part about this twisted game is when I find out it gets hard for me.
The Do Gooder...he wants me. I don't know why. But I know how to make him pay.
This story is emotional and so romantic, but it has some dark parts. Triggers include mental health struggles, trauma, abuse, drug use, and some themes that may be difficult for LGBTIQA+ listeners struggling with faith issues. All these things are handled as gently as possible.

Fabulous story
I loved this story that was heartbreaking and loving in equal measures. The characters were adorable and their journey towards love was a great listen. These 2 narrators do a superb job of bringing these characters to life.
The title made me ponder long because “wrath” is mentioned a couple of times regarding peripheral characters so I think the “wrath” is how you feel hearing about the barbaric therapy practices. Sure made my blood boil and I’m thankful that civilised countries stopped thinking shock therapy could change sexual preference decades ago. This book talked about being between 2017 & 2020 which confused me because that backward primitive so called therapy sounded more like the 1960’s. Thank goodness youngsters don’t need to worry about that these days.

More than 5 stars
I have naively skipped MM for no reason really!
This was absolutely outstanding, beautifully written and the narration was simply perfect Iggy Toma and Tim Paige take a bow. I cried so hard in some places I had to take a breather to continue listening but yet smiled so long in other places my cheeks were literally aching this book will stay with for a long time I’m sure and will without a doubt hit my reread/listen queue
Ella James you converted the 26 letters of the alphabet into a masterpiece, I adore Josh and Ezra all the stars all the feels, sensory overload thank you 💜

A rollercoaster of emotions
Not a story, a journey. You are taken on a journey with Josh and Ezra, a beautiful and upsetting all at the same time. I had smiles and tears. There some very dark elements. An absolute must listen.

Boy this book!
wow this book gave me all the feels, I laughed, I cried like big big tears, I got angry but I loved it all. There are triggers for some and was a little difficult to listen to but that’s what comes with surviving. And yes you survived it! Spice level is fab and the narrators, Iggy Toma & Tim Paige were perfect for Josh & Ezra

An incredible tale!
From start to finish I was hooked. I loved the slow burn before anything sexual happened and the whole gay conversion therapy topic was so interesting, traumatic and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Thank you. 😊

Oh my heart….
Okay, I bought the audiobook and I think that’s why it took me so long to get through this book. Not because it was bad but because the narrators put the performance of a lifetime in. I felt the pain of the characters and I just had to take it a bit at a time.
I definitely recommend this book, and make sure you check triggers because there were times when I had to stop listening because of my tears.

What a story!
Highly recommend! I'm sad that it's finished and I want more. The characters and story has a strong place in my heart and I really didn't expect it!
