Summary

He's the biggest jerk in the galaxy.

I can live with being stuck on the far end of space. I can live with having to spend weeks on an abandoned station in an asteroid belt. Sure, I don't belong, but I've got my book and my eight-legged attack cat with me. I should be fine.

I'm not fine.

My alien host, Jerrok, is a jerk. He's surly and unpleasant. He hasn't bathed in years. He's part cyborg - and all those parts seem to be falling to pieces. He's the one in charge of this remote station, which means we're forced to interact. It's an absolutely miserable situation for both of us...until I realize that all his anger and bluster is covering the fact that he's thoughtful and understanding. He's protective, too, keeping me safe when the bad guys approach. When I get hurt, he's the one tenderly caring for my wounds. Jerrok is also intensely, utterly lonely, just like me.

As time passes, I start to wonder...maybe where I belong isn't a place...but a person.

Contains mature themes.

Love Ruby Dixon but this book kinda dragged on.

I really love Ruby's books and there was a good story here it just took a while to get there. Honestly, I love listening to Mason Lloyd and he needed more air time. I could not handle Jillian Macie though. She is just not cut out to narrate Science Fiction. I'm sure others like her but she is just so over the top and not so bad but the up and down repeating pattern of her voice gets monotonous with that weird drop and pause at the end of the sentence. Then when she tried to add emotion, it comes out like a whiny middle schooler to me. Wish I could figure out what it is that is so polarizing about her narration.

Great story

Thank you for sharing this beautiful love story. I love the Narrators. Please make the other books audio as well. Love listening to them while my commute to work. Or just running errands. Love the story romantic, funny, sad and then a happy ending. Thank you 🙏🏼😊

Do your self a favor and get her books

No matter what series or what characters Ruby Dixon entices me into, I thoroughly enjoy it… each story some how fuels the addictive momentum to find another one of her story’s.

If you haven’t tried one of her many books, your missing out and need to hop on the alien smut ban wagon… I promise you won’t be disappointed ;)

Rocking series!!

This book is absolutely fantastic. It has a quirky human female and her wounded alien lover. Great book with lots of steam.

sweet listening!

I enjoy all of Ruby''s books, but especially when they are on audio. Sometimes I think there are too many long drawn out sex scenes. (was that a pun?). But I think sometimes it is good to leave a little to the imagination.
I hope Ruby continues her excellent writing career!
