About this listen
The epic conclusion to Bob Mauldin's best-selling Stellar Heritage series.
With the human-Shiravan treaty on the line, Kitty Hawke must violently end a mutiny aboard one of her ships. Afterwards, she leaves Shiravi, bound for Earth after being away for two years. Marsha Kane replaces Kitty as the head of the human fleet in Shiravan space, but she has her own plans on how to end the war with the Garmon, formerly called the Korvil.
Meanwhile, the humans and Shiravan take the fight to the Garmon, destroying their ships and decimating their worlds, and it seems as if the war is nearing its end. But things take a turn for the worse when the Garmon upgrade their technology and stage a massive attack on Shiravi, destroying the matriarch's home and taking many lives.
Amidst all the chaos, the Terran Alliance solidifies its foothold in space and then looks to the next step - the colonization of other worlds. Kitty and Simon's dream of exploring the unknown seems more distant now than ever as they struggle to survive. But they know how the old saying goes - when one door closes...another opens.

Wrap speed 1
A very good and smooth conclusion.
I personally enjoyed the entire series and it is one of my favorites.
All the main characters were given a conclusion and no holes were left.
Very well done.
There are of course plot hooks left, alien worlds to explore, use of weapons of mass destruction to be explained and punished. Of course but. It any more…
I am very happy that the main storyline came to a complete conclusion.
Rest in peace Bob Mauldin your stories will be missed.

Could not finish this.
I found the first book entertaining but the story line has become weaker and has lost a lot of pace with very little happening from one book to the next. I have found myself Questioning the strange and random decisions made by characters which there was very little evidence to support but of course it always works out for the best. Weak storyline and technology that magically improves as though humans were supermen.

Found this difficult to finish.
I enjoyed the first two books in the series and gave this 4th book the benefit of the doubt after the rather weak 3rd book. But it is again rather drawn out, repetative in places, and also has main characters acting in ways that are just unbelievable. Other characters just drop out or reappear without seemingly forwarding the storyline. Disapointed and I am struggling to finish it. Mark Boyett manages to keep it going with his normal excellent performance.
