Really enjoyed this book

Very enjoyable and immersive read (and I’ve listened to way over 1000 books). Can’t wait for the other books in the series to come onto Audible.

Hot strong leader.

What made the experience of listening to Warprize the most enjoyable?

It was not just about sex, it had a slow burn, but it had a story with strong characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Warprize?

When the lady discovered she was actually a prize.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Her voice was natural, no sing song type voice. She did good changing voices to male.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, ran through it fast.

Any additional comments?

I will listen to this one again. Waiting for the next book in the series.

Good listen ... kept me interested but....

The book was different and characters were interesting. I enjoyed the book it was a nice storyline and I love fantasy and medieval settings.

The story was just flat without good development. Lara’s charater began strong but she digressed with no thought to reality. She makes decisions as though she is an unlearned child. This is a woman 25 yrs old .... an old maid in those times. She can’t figure out what is happening and why. All the evidence and she is like... NO It couldn’t be ...REALLY?

Keir was a wonderful character with the patiences of Job but come on.... he NEVER ACTUALLY SPOKE with his Warprize to ask a simple “hey how do you feel”...here’s how I feel or even here is how it is in my culture.

Good but I like my heroines stronger and a little more growth in my charaters. A little more craftiness was have been appreciated. The book was a GOOD listen but not drawn into the series or main charaters

Like the story, don't like the Narrator

I've read and loved this whole series so was glad to hear its coming out in audio format.

After getting turned off the J.D. Robb 'In Death' series on audio by this narrator, Susan Ericksen, I hoped that I would like her reading someone else's book. Nope. I didn't like her so won't be buying any more books with her on the microphone.

Wonderful story. Loved every moment.

The characters are wonderful. I look forward to enjoying the books that are coming. Elizabeth Vaughan is a detailed writer that draws you into the story and doesn't let go. Thinking she will become one of my all time favorites.

4.5 Stars

I really enjoyed Warprize. I didn't want to put it down so I stayed up late listening and woke up early to continue listening. I was even dreaming about the story and the characters.

There was no cliffhanger and all of the drama from this book was resolved. I am not in any hurry to continue the series but I probably will someday.

My only gripe is that the book had a very abrupt ending and no epilogue. I would have liked to see a bit more.

I liked the audible for this book. The narrator did a really good job and had good voices for the characters.

started as a 3 star, then 2, then 1

writing has humor, but it is lazy writing. good plot in idea, but terrible execution. the romance couple are blanks with no descriptive properties. the main character is stupid. she's not really a character, just a way to progress the plot. I could write a story with less plot holes and bs. disappointing, but it is a fine short fluff book. the climax is bad though

I have waited 10 years for this book.

When I found this book, I immediately bought it. About a year ago I asked EV if there would be an audiobook, and she said, maybe someday. Someday has come! I can't believe I didn't know about this when it first came out.

So, when I started listening to this book I was actually mad and hated the narrator choice. I at first thought the voice of Lara sounded too old. I thought, how dare you ruin one of my favorite books with a bad narrator choice. Why would you do that? But then, I let the story play on and I got use to voice of Susan and I was ok with it. I would of still liked a younger voice, but it didn't ruin one of my top favorite books of all time.

If you are a historical romance reader or fantasy one, you'll enjoy this book. There is just something about it that captures you and makes you want to read this book over and over. This series is amazing and takes you on an epic emotional adventure. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I have over the years.

I've been waiting for this

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Lately I've been dissatisfied in every novel, finding them all sounding the same. I found this story engaging. It is heavier on romance than many fantasy books, and not a lot of action, but I still found myself unable to turn it off. Looking forward to the next book.

Didn't enjoy the narrator, but she did okay

Story\character detail is flat

The actual story\plot is interesting, and that is the only reason I finished it. The main character is bipolar or manic; she flips between being submissive and terrified she will be beat, to outright manic rage and defiance! She is the kind of woman you avoid in RL because you have no idea what expect. I do not like her at all. The rest of the characters are flat, with little personality detail and vague physical descriptions. Scene description is also flat. It's like reading an AOL fantasy RP; example: "John strode in and his piercing blue eyes gleamed. He then walked to the bar and ordered a drink." If the author put the time into describing character, scene, situation details, and made the main character's personality more stable, this could be a good book. As it is, I find myself struggling to paint a picture in my head, and I'm not the least bit concerned for the characters and I definitely don't care about the romance aspect.
