Summary
Latent werewolf trainer, Chris Michaels takes his job seriously at Woodhaven Mountain Inn, especially with threats of an attack closing in. But the new and beautiful redhead with the sad eyes and broken heart has thrown off his focus. Knowing the connection to her is strong, but not magical, Chris refuses to listen to his inner wolf.
Torn between what she thinks and how she feels, Sarah McClain is overwhelmed by the tragedies of her past and the voices that have haunted her since childhood. Wanting to give in to the darkness that threatens her, Sarah teeters on the edge, while trying to ignore her true identity. It's up to Chris to heal her broken heart and help her embrace what she really is. Will Sarah welcome her new world or is the pull of pain too powerful to endure?

Okay.
This was my first introduction to Vegas mates so maybe more context might have helped me get more out of it. A pleasant latent mate hot romance and seemingly asinine royal werewolf murder-politics are crammed into a quite short story.
I liked the concept of Sarah's discovery although as the inner wolf dialogue spoken seemed at least as together as the human side, it was never really obvious to me why the latents feared that part of themselves so much.

Steamy shifter romance
I loved Sarah’s story. The storyline is intriguing and quick paced. The large picture is getting more and more suspenseful.

The power of love can work wonders!
Sarah lost her fiance and is having difficulty adjusting. Chris helps werewolves learn to live and work with their wolves. Sarah has a latent wolf and has had voices in her head for years and never understood them. Plus her aunt and grandmother are looking for her and her cousins to turn over to The Council. This is a fast paced, carefully crafted story that will keep your blood pumping and adrenaline flowing. I love this series so far.

Great book
Council threats and Renata's deadly attack leave the Vegas pack scrambling to regroup... Heartbroken over the death of her fiance and tortured by a voice in her mind that's haunted her since childhood, Sarah McLain learns her true ancestry after attending her best friend Margaret's wedding. Can the pack save Sarah from the darkness that threatens to overwhelm her? Or will the wolf inside drive her over the edge before they can show her being a supernatural being is a good thing? Chris Michaels is in charge of training the new latent werewolves at the O'Hearn mountain inn, now known as Woodhaven. His focus is tested when he finds out the beautiful but sad redhead, Sarah McLain, is his trainee. The connection he feels to her is strong but not magickal, and his wolf claims it foolish to listen to his human instincts. Can Chris heal her broken heart in time, or will he lose the woman he knows is perfect for him.

Voices Inside Your Head!!
Sarah is a latent - the wolf she does not know she has inside her has made her life difficult. When her friends work to "wake" the wolf inside - will it make matters better or worse?!?
Love the building of the relationship with wolf-shifter Chris. He feels something for her, but until her wolf appears he will not know if she is his fated mate.
Terrific story in a fabulous series.

Waking Sarah
Now that the war has officially started and in the wake of the deaths in the previous book, the pack has gathered all the latent shifters to wake their animals up. Sarah is the first to embark on this journey, and boy did she not see the revelation of shifters coming. Not only does she find out that she's got a wolf trapped inside her, but she's still dealing with the death of her fiance. Chris is still longing to find his mate, and he's sure that this time he's got it right when he believes it's Sarah, but until her wolf is freed he can't know for sure. Amid Sarah's transition, danger lurks threatening to separate these new mates before they get the chance to start their lives together.
The narrator does an amazing job portraying all the passion and emotion of the story especially the confusion and struggle of the characters. I love how he does the voices for their inner animals making them distinct from the regular voices. The story is really brought to life. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Love It
Fantastic book with superb narration.
I love Sarah and Chris. Sarah is a latent wolf and when she finds out she handles it with only a little issue. Chris recognizes her as his mate but refuses to do anything about it until her wolf appears. The Council is still hunting the pack and Sarah is swept up in the trouble. Listen to this fantastic book to see what happens

A Shifter War, Passionate Romance & A Deadly Game
This was a good book and a solid addition to this series. In my opinion, you really need to read these books in order to get the most out of them. Characters are introduced, reappear, vital events occur and there is a large and important overarching story that is unfolding. So while you might be able to enjoy a single book, I believe that for the most part you will just be left feeling very confused and like you've missed something, which you will have. Now as for this book. I was very intrigued by the premise of this book and quite excited to read Chris and Sarah's story and while I liked the characters and the book I also felt a bit let down about it all. To start I feel the short length of this book played a huge part in the dissatisfaction I ended up feeling. I think Sarah's history, the shocking discovery she had to deal with about herself, the ramifications she struggled with because of her lack of such knowledge and her being able to come to terms with all of the above was just a lot to be dealt with in such a short book. So of course things are kept fairly superficial and everything works out very quickly, which was OK but I did mourn the waste of so much great potential. I'm also really beginning to hope that "The Good Guys" smarten up a bit. In this battle of good vs evil and commoner vs elite the stakes keep getting higher and the losses are mounting. I know we need things to move the story along and set up the next book but a real game plan, some pro-activeness and yeah, even some common sense would be great to see. Even with these issues I enjoyed this book and am eager to see what happens in the next one. The blend of drama, action, suspense, danger, violence, passion and romance is addictive and has you fully invested in these characters and the outcome of the war that is raging.
