Summary

Lexi is a survivor; she has spent her whole life moving from one abusive foster home to the next, until she decided to take charge of her own life. Living in abandoned buildings, couch surfing, and working at a strip clubs were a huge improvement on what she had before. All she needs is enough money to feed herself, finish high school, and hopefully go to college.

She has a plan. That is until she is caught and sent to live with a strange foster family upstate.

Rafferty King was forced like Lexi to this new foster home, but he fits in better. And that's saying something for a total misfit. Hot as hell and getting into fights, while ignoring her existence. Whatever.

Then there are the twins Ranger and Maverick, also known as "The joker and The Loner". They know who she is and give her the new-girl treatment with which she is all too familiar.

And how can a history teacher look that hot? There should be rules against that kind of thing. But there is something about Galen Donovani that has Lexi feeling safe when he is near. While everyone else avoids him.

What the hell is going on in the state of Washington? And why are there so many wolves roaming at Port Willow High?

very enjoyable

I'm loving this, so many twists, and the characters well I love them. I can't wait to listen to the next one as this one has a hell of a cliffhanger at the end

Bad narration...

I wanted to like this book but the narrator is annoying. I couldn’t pay attention to story, all I can focus on is the voice of the narrator. She puts way too much emphasis on everything and reads like she is trying to seduce you... and not in a nice way...

Excellent story!

Was worried it would be too YA, but it didn't disappoint. Definitely a slow burn, but during the whole story you completely fall in love with Raff. The second book is more NA- just FYI!

Who... who gave this author the right to write such an amazingly hot paranormal romance? I loved everything about this story. This has everything you could want; it's got wolf shifters, a vampire, reverse harem, danger, emotion, spice, and a mystery supernatural. To those of us who would've liked to see Bella Swan have both Edward and Jacob, well you've found your book right here!

Mediocre at best!

This book had so much potential to be a great book, but I feel Belle Harper lost focus, but instead made the focus on potraying Lexi as a "Rabbit in Heat" and honestly it became "eye rolling!". However other parts of the story were interesting and I was looking forward to see what Lexi actually was and unfortunately that was not revealed in book 1, however is revealed in book 2.

I have listened to several shifter books that had multiple mates, but for some reason, it really wasn't working in this book. It was have been amazing if Belle Harper just focused on a great romance between Lexi and Raff, but that didn't happen.

I am hoping that in book 2, we get less orgy scenes and more subtance on what Lexi is and what her special skills can do, and obviously the growth and bond she has with Raff. I was simply not interested in Ranger, Maverick and her vampire mate.

Meh....

This might have been a good story, but the narration just wasn't there. I wonder if I can still return this. And why are the female characters always portrayed as so dumb?

I like this a lot

This is a slower burn, RH shifter book. I actually like it a lot, though I thought some parts were a little melodramatic. It's definitely worth the credit.

ummmm....

it was an okay story, it just gotta a little uncomfortable when you realize that the main character (Lexi) is 17 and not really an adult for most of it. It's just a bit weird to listen to High schooler go at it and her teacher make it weirder.... I also listen to it in 1.6 speed so the narration didn't bother me so much but there were some slips and you can hear the recuts. it's def not for me I couldn't make it through this one and I LOVE ROMANACE NOVELS.

Great start

Great start to a series! The characters draw you in from the start when Lexi is running away from a police officer and the foster care system that has failed her all her life. When she is caught and moved to a new state and a new foster home she finds out how different things can be. She also finds out about the shifter world and the mystery of their reaction to her. Looking forward to the next book!

Holy cliffhanger

Oh my goodness. This book was awesome. That cliffhanger left me crazy. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. The narration was really good in this. Both Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose did a really good job portraying the characters. Anxious to see where the story is going to go next.
