Summary
When my parents were banished from Wolf City before I was born, I thought there was no way I would ever live in a pack again. Cuffed, with my shifter magic bound, I was forced to go to school with witches and vampires in order to keep my true nature from coming out.
Then I met him.
Sawyer Hudson.
The Alpha's son was visiting the Delphi College for Magically Banished Youth and spotted me. He took one look at me, and an hour later, I was being pulled out of school, taken into Wolf City and leaving my parents and everything I knew behind.
It's the Alpha's son's selection year, the year he must pick a mate, and every female aged 18-22 must be in attendance.
I've landed myself in the middle of Werewolf Bachelor, and just when I think I've got a handle on things, Sawyer releases my cuffs, unbinds my magic, and sees what I really am.
The problem is, I don't know what this creature is that I transform into. It's not an ordinary werewolf, that's for damn sure.

Too short
The story is quite good and it’s narrated well, but it’s too short I feel the books should be much longer.

Super rich love interest with insta love...
There were quite a lot of things that weren't my cup of tea sufficient to dock a couple of stars. The heroine was mostly fine, but the weird wolf society was jarring (the love interest had a mate selection year where he had to date 50 girls and chose a mate) and I can't help but roll my eyes whenever I read about yet ANOTHER generous super rich boy (his parents paid for her college, clothes, accommodation, literally gave her a credit card). The love interest pretty much had insta love for the main character from get go and for me that takes all the fun out. Also, it ends on a cliff hanger...
On the good side, I liked the twist with the main character's wolf, the revelation about her parents and hints at slightly more complex tribe politics that the author tried to set up for future books.

Frustrating
I really love the storyline. I'm really frustrated with the main character, not that this review will magically make her more intelligent and better at thinking on her feet but who knows! I'll feel better. Demi is slow, like really slow throughout the book. There are times where she's quiet when saying one thing could help the entire situation. She's a wolf with super senses and strength yet she topples off a cliff taking a picture. Yet she's fast and agile enough to catch bullets. It continues on into book 2 where she's still continuingly getting snuck up on by vampires and creatures when supposedly she has a super sense of smell and reflexes as fast as a vampire. She's a nitwit. There. I've said it.

Junior Highish
This is supposed to be about adults, but reads like a junior high soap opera. The dialogue is juvenile, there's a lot of game playing, and the main character is a self-absorbed twit. I could not finish and would return, if I could. The reviews are misleading. If you enjoy a great character-driven story, with an original plot, look elsewhere. I don't recommend.

Nope
I didn't get past the first chapter another book where the first guy the MC meets she's offered a chance to be his mate and she goes to a school where she has to audition with 50 other girls to become the next alpha's mate. The during the dates she's is at a bar having fun and the guy comes in with another date and tells her to go home and she obeyed. it seems like all the fantasy, paranormal, adventure books written nowadays are written by children and the main characters don't do anything but lust after each other and have sex

One of the best shifter stories I've read!
Amazing characters, a store with twists & turns that keep you on your toes, and the narrator goes a great job! Hats off to the author for such a well done job! Highly recommend this series!

Great book, easy listen, should have a warning label though
Love the author and narrator. The narrator is especially one of my favorites. The book is easy to listen to - I went through the whole thing in two days and never felt bored. I will say though, there’s a couple different triggers in this book regarding assault and it definitely caught me off guard. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book and will buy the second one.

A roller coaster
3.5 ⭐️ Good but could have been so much better.
This review is for the entire series, not just the first book. Each books book picks up right where the previous one ends so it reads like a full novel.
Listening to this series was like riding a roller coaster. Lots of ups and downs, abrupt changes in direction, and at the end you wish it could have been longer. This story could have been so good if the author slowed down, expanded on relationships and events, and explored sub plots of supporting characters.
Is it entertaining to listening to? Yes. Is it worth 4 credits? No

I Couldn’t Stop Listening!
I’ve been waiting to listen to this story for a while so that at least most of the books in the series are on Audible. I read through a few reviews before diving in and started to second guess if I should purchase. But I’m a sucker for a good werewolf story and was drawn in by the blurb. This was exceptional. Fresh. Alluring. The author brought these characters to life so beautifully and the narration enhanced the story. The chemistry and connection between Demi and Sawyer was electric and believable. And I honestly don’t see how anyone could have a problem with Sawyer…he was thoughtful, charming, communicative, raw. He also fought for Demi. Risked his life for her. Killed for her. He showed immense fortitude and his character fits his role of impending alpha. Demi was also a strong character, brave and outspoken. She’s not afraid to be her authentic self. Loved her! Of course, everything goes to heck at the end with a major cliffhanger we all knew was coming…but who can really complain about that either? Now I’m pumped to see what happens next and how these two make it to their HEA! Definitely recommend!!

For a younger audience
This is not the paranormal romance that I like simply because I think the book is intended for a younger audience. That being said, my younger self would have thoroughly enjoyed this book so give it a try.

Formulaic page turner
This author's books tend to follow a formula so if you're just looking to kill time and enjoy that kind of thing it might be for you. I tend to despise authors who end a book with the main character in mortal danger because it is a greedy and uncaring thing to do to readers.
Not much character development or reason to even like the protagonists and nothing edifying for someone who claims to be Christian.
