About this listen

In a village of lazy, good-for-nothing Cobalins, one manly man—a true studly stud—stands above them all: the great, the powerful, the King of…Knock.

(Desley palms her forehead. You no be King of Shadows! Now we have to start over. Cobalins groan.)

The terrible Army of Light knows the secret location of Dedu Tedu Novus. War is here. There's absolutely no avoiding it.

Or is there?

Naturally, Dhane does the most unthinkable thing: employs an impromptu plan, his favorite type. It's dangerous, it's crazy, and it embarks them on a new adventure where it rains every day and the problems don't stop.

Can he save his village? Can he convince Challenger Sarah to help? Or is he only putting off the inevitable, the point where the Changed Reditai turn all those of Shadow into stone for their mysterious plans?

Tropical Hazard is the third installment in the hilarious—and sometimes serious—Arachnomancer series. Travel to a new zone, see the world, and eat spider tacos. Octoralis glares. Or… umm… don't. Don't do that last thing.

Notice: Arachnomancer was rated M for mature by a team of immature Cobalins. Listen at your own risk.

The performance. Soothing voice and excellent pacing.

The story is alright. Apart from one thing everything is passable at worst.
That is the relationships. Author does not seem to be able to decide upon anything.
First we nearly get harem which can be okay. First overlord style of story. But, then author starts matching girls hes built up through lots of chapters with side characters nobody cares about. He simply gets cold feet.

Main character apparently can't decide upon being sexually frustrated, mourning his ex leaving him and dreaming about other chicks...

We are far side tracked from the main plot id say. It is a horrible waste of time. 35-40% of books are relationships... The guys hardly get any debth at all compared to the female cast. I enjoy hot chicks as much as the next guy. But cmon. We need more bro time too.
Also at least pick one chick and stick or take em all.

You hardly see much romance in Lord of The Rings for example. The books and movies obviously. So no need for all this shit.

Great performance but the story takes a big dip

The narration is excellent as usual, the cobling voices are super funny, but in my opinion, the story is 100% trashed in This volume. I bought myself just letting the audio pass to just get over some parts, it became a god damn harem book. I lost complete interest in the story, nothing made sense anymore, there was just a lot of wasting time instead of actual content. The first chapter are good and last portion of the book improves a bit, but I could summarize this book in 10 minutes. The rest is really not worth anyone's time, it adds nothing to the story and the progression of the world. I will follow the next book and hope that it will improve, otherwise this will be the end of the road for me.

Good:
* Narration
* Interesting plans converging and unexpected options kind of plot

Bad:
* 80% filibuster content
* Lazy harem like kind of story
* Barelly no main character growth
* Barelly no world progression
