Summary
What if what you really need is right there in front of you, if you just take a moment to look up?
Milly has been waiting for this moment forever, and finally it’s just an hour away - an interview with Vogue magazine and the opportunity to get her Louboutin-clad foot in the door. There’s just one problem - totally engrossed in her mobile phone, Milly doesn’t see the bus that is fast approaching - until it’s too late....
When Milly next opens her eyes, the consequences of her accident become clear. Everything she has worked for and dreamed of suddenly feels out of reach. But there is one bright spot on her horizon - the reappearance of her ex Jed, in all of his six-foot-four, broad-shouldered glory, with the most piercing ice blue eyes Milly ever saw.
Once used to working in a whirlwind, Milly now has the chance to reconsider how to live. Will she rush back to the treadmill, get her head down and back to business, or is there a whole other life waiting for her, if she’ll just look up to see it?
Maxine Morrey’s latest uplifting, heart-warming romance is guaranteed to brighten up your day.

Good but sometimes too wordy
Good believable storyline. Sometimes a little too wordy, too much description and I became impatient at times. But overall a good listen.

Somehow ok
I think it’s a mediocre story. The accent of the male protagonist is clearly exaggerated represented

Better at 1.1x speed
It was a bit slow paced vocally but that was soon fixed by increasing the narration speed a bit.

Probably Harmless
I don't want to be too harsh as I think this is a relatively harmless and comforting romance, it's just a little too clichéd and kind of snobby about people using their phones too much and shallow influencers taking over the world etc, not that there's no grain of truth to that, it's just slightly too transparent about it's maybe a little too priveledged gripes about the world.
The ex-boyfriend also doesn't seem to have any faults which doesn't make him feel like a real person. But I might be expecting too much from a light piece of literature and it was a very sweet story. Well read narration too, but again, rather posh, which may be alright if that's your preference, but I was a bit distracted by it.

Book for young adults
Rather a juvenile story, suitable perhaps for young girls. Had to stop when the dog got in the picture, very obvious what the ending is going to be. I like the narrator.

Relax... this book is worth your Full Attention
A story that many of us can relate to, with believable and very likeable characters and a great pace to the story. I savoured every moment of the story, giving it my full attention; and really enjoyed it and relaxed.
Narrator Gloria occasionally appeared to 'forget herself' and read at nineteen to the dozen, but only ever for a very short period of time.
I like to be fair and say as I find, for an informative review; hence the highest praise for this excellent book; while another, by a different Author; I've slated elsewhere. I'll be looking out for other books by Maxine Morrey

An enjoyable book.
Nice easy listen, too, but a good story. It definitely makes you think about how much you use your phone.

Terrible Narration
The narrator did not do this book justice. The “southern” accent was dreadful and distracts the listener in my opinion.

Why was this book soooo long?
It was extremely boring and drawn out. It was like a Hallmark movie, where the "couple" circles each other as friends for the entire time, only there was no spark and then...boom, "I'm still in love with you". Not to mention, there was a ton of inner dialogue and the interactions between them were very dull. Reading this book was the equivalent of describing a day of running errands, but taking 9 hours to do so. Oh yeah and the HEA comes at like the last 5 minutes of the book. I did like the characters and the narrator was good, minus the southern drawl, which was dreadful. So grateful this was Audible Plus (free)!

good start...
Millie whined too long....the country voice vs the soft English accent was nerve racking. I was glad it was free.

The conflict that never ends
This book is in desperate need of an editor. Some good bits but hours of needless ruminating the contrived conflict. Whole book could be cut to 1/4 the length to be enjoyable.

Stay away from audiobook!
The narrator was one of the worst I’ve ever listened to. The book might be better if you read it yourself- I don’t really know because I was too focused on the dreadful accents.

Could have been promising
The weird super forced southern cowboy accent was so dreadful that I just couldn’t continue after he came into the picture.

Couldn’t listen
I don’t write many reviews. But this story is so implausible. The other reviews are right about the southern accent. Cringeworthy. 7 chapters about nothing more than being on your phone too much. Glad it didn’t cost me a credit.

Southern accent needs work
It was difficult to get past the awful Southern accent attempt. It was painful and inconsistent.
