Introducing Richard Armitage, our star narrator
Richard is well-known for his array of film, television and theatre work, including The Hobbit, Spooks and The Crucible. His trademark baritone voice has earned him recognition, too, through his performance on many notable audiobooks as well as in TV and radio show narration. This experience shines through in Armitage's gripping performance of the Jackman and Evans series where he plays host to a plethora of characters.
And Joy Ellis, the book's author
Joy Ellis started her career as a flower seller in Mayfair in the 1960s, before going on to open her own florist in Surrey. When the recession hit, Joy had a career change and became a bookseller, and attended a writing course in Greece where she was mentored by Sue Townsend. She now lives in the Fens with her partner Jacqueline, where the flatlands and marshes provide inspiration for her eerie plotlines.

When DI Rowan Jackman and DS Evans are told that the IT boss has disappeared, they soon suspect foul play. Orla Cracken, known as Orac, is no ordinary techie; she was once a field agent traveling abroad undercover, working for the government.
Meanwhile DC Robbie Melton discovers that two people, both urban explorers, have mysteriously disappeared whilst out exploring abandoned buildings. One went missing at a disused airfield, but was it a military base, or was it civilian?
The gruesome discovery of their decaying bodies found hanging in ancient church ruins bursts the case wide open, and Jackman and Evans are under pressure to find the killer. With Orac safely back in the picture following a secret journey to Ireland to try and find her long-lost sister who went missing as a child, the hunt is now on to find the killer before he hangs his next victim.
It soon becomes clear that the killer is targeting urban explorers, but why is he determined to track down and torture these innocent people, and how is the case connected to Orac’s mysterious past, still shrouded in secrecy?

Another great addition to the series
Really enjoyed it. Armitage is great as usual. with so many characters, it's amazing how he manages to keep them distinct as needed.
The story had a lot of characters and a few red herrings, but wasn't incredibly surprising. even so, I really liked it. I especially like the details of the topic (Urban exploring, and another which I won't mention to avoid spoiling)

Another great 'read' .
This collaboration between Joy Ellis and Richard Armitage is so good. The narrative is compelling and made even more so by the excellent performance of Richard Armitage. I love his portrayal of charachters, each idividually recognisable by their accent and voice tone. Another great 'read'.

Good yarn - I didn't guess!
The mysterious Orak disappears, creating mayhem. At the same time, young Urban Explorers start to disappear, only to re-appear hanged in a ritualistic fashion. The team need Orak's skills now, more than ever. Where did the semi-cyborg go and will she get back in time to help...or, indeed, at all.....
