Summary

Contains the complete Wolf of the North trilogy.

Wolf of the North, book 1

It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be.

A chance encounter with an ancient and mysterious object awakens a latent gift, and Wulfric's life changes course. Against a backdrop of war, tragedy, and an enemy whose hatred for him knows no bounds, Wulfric will be forged from a young boy into the Wolf of the North. This is his tale.

Jorundyr's Path, book 2

Jorundyr's Path is walked only by the brave. It is survived only by the strong. As Wulfric pursues Adalhaid's Blood Debt, he soon learns that the path to revenge is never easy, and the desires of men and the will of gods rarely meet. Aethelman seeks answers to questions long ignored. Rodulf chases power and wealth.

From the streets of Elzburg to the dry plains of Darvaros, Wulfric walks Jorundyr's Path and encounters a world larger than he could ever have dreamed of, filled with friends, enemies, and danger—the crucible from which heroes are forged.

The Blood Debt, book 3

A blade fit for a hero. An army for a tyrant. A reckoning long awaited, and a tale reaching its end.

Mills & Boon meets Game of Thrones

I really tried with this but it is utter tripe. Flat narration of a very dull tale populated by cliched characters. How it has received such positive reader reviews is a complete mystery to me. I feel a fool for wasting my monthly credit on this when the Booker prize shortlist is landing on Audible.

Negative and the villain runs the story

DNF first book, but skipped ahead to finish the story. What a bad story it is. It’s so black and white. Good guys are stupid and the villains have all the plans leading them around and around. We also got a plot armored magic stone that gives the MC some power, but mostly it gives the priest that kills his village and then the moronic boy villain everything (and I mean everything, I wish I was him in this story). The story is so negative and the ending is ofc tragic. The romance was nice in the beginning, but they are apart too long etc. she even dates another one. So if you are in to a sad story this is for you, I hated it.

Best Ever!

I could not put this book down (and I don’t say that often) This is an epic story that spans the life of a realistic, flawed wonderful hero. Men and women alike will enjoy these books. Fans of GOT or LOTRs would love them. It is brought to life with a fabulous narrator who is masterful at producing a wondrous variety of voices making the characters real. With the ageing of time through the books the voices of characters matured.
Fantastic book / story. Magnificent reading, will definitely be listening to another from this author and narrator.
This story would do well as an epic film trilogy - yes please.
Thank you to all involved.

Not Epic by any stretch of the imagination.

Small self contained story that pulls from established tropes of the genre without fleshing out anything. A nice short read with an abrupt and unsatisfying ending. Nothing epic about it except for the embellishments in Yagaveer's tall tales..

Good story, well told.

I haven’t listened to a story so well written and well told in a long time.

I struggled with this

I can't put my finger on why, but this book struggled to keep my concentration. Narration was good, but it felt like it was missing something and i can't figure out what

Rehashed lacks any originality

Poor in every aspect . 1 eyed “baddie” indestructible main character until the very predictable ending . Even the ultimate reunion with the love interest has been done so many times its laughable . Don’t waste your money give it a charity for unimaginative authors .

easy to listen to

I really the short character story updates that mean you don't have to wait too long when the tension was raised before it returned to a part that hadcyou hooked.

Intriguing fantasy world, characters full of life.

I had to play it on 0.8 speed just to slow it down a touch but with that I dove straight into the world and characters, the telling gives you a clear platform for imagination I could clearly see each person, place and creature all in all a very good experience.
