About this listen

Get the Fall of Radiance boxed set, featuring all five action-packed books in the best-selling epic fantasy series - including adventure, magic, war, and a bond between warriors that can't be broken.

Magic has protected Tarsynium for a thousand years, shielding its people from being ravaged by bloodthirsty demons. When a young ranger's apprentice named Owyn Lund discovers that the Arc of Radiance has been breached, he tries to warn anybody who will listen.

But legends aren't supposed to be real.

When a village is mysteriously destroyed, rangers, mages, and rebels all point the finger, blaming each other for the demons' brutality. However, Zara Dennel, a mage's ward, has heard Owyn's tale - and she's inclined to believe him.

Together, they must prove that friendship is greater than intolerance, unity is more important than division, and that even the most powerful magic can sometimes not be enough.

Failure means the end of all things. A second - and lasting - Doom.

Buy this special edition omnibus to experience a saga with something for every fan of epic fantasy. Suitable for all ages, it's perfect for fans of Sabaa Tahir, Sarah J. Maas, and Brandon Sanderson.

Narrated by the award-winning duo: Michael Kramer and Kate Reading.

The female voice actor suck. The male voice actor has a good voice. Next time skip the female voice actor.

female voice actor is bad, the one male is good.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying listening to this series. It’s basic stuff, little to nothing in the way of descriptive writing - I still have no idea what any of the main characters really look like other than the cartoonish cover of the audio book - but it’s easy, fun stuff.

However, why does the author (and he’s not alone in this) make their protagonists so whiny and petulant?

If they were supposed to be young teenagers, I’d get it but they’re so pathetic that it really detracts from the story!

Ah well, it gets me to sleep at night so I’ll persevere :)

Fun story by why so petulant?

Was really torn between 3 and 4 stars. Enjoyable series with good character development and plot. Kept on your feet as never knew what decision would happen or what direction characters would take.
And easy listen and entertaining but not one of my all time favs hence the 3/4 stars.

End and flows but when it flows it flows!

bit if a slog and the holes in the story line were a shame. more of a young teens book rather than an adult series.

holes in the story

Great story from beginning to finish.
I would say this book is suitable for younger teenagers who are into their fantasy novels. Not graphic and little to no adult reference.
Fantastic narration from Michael and Kate as always

Brilliant

While there are one or two things about this series that I didn't like, they were minor compared to the overall epic adventure that this series has. As my headline says, it reminds me a lot about Attack on Titian but has a bit of a unique style to it with the nation spanning shield and more. I think that this universe could be explored even more. I'll avoid spoilers, but this series is fantastic.

Attack on titian but with demons and magic.

The writing is not bad, and the narration is better than the text deserves, but I found it difficult to stay focussed until the end of the fifth book. The story line is conventional and predictable, with characters who are one-dimensional and naive to the point of irritation. Blatant traps and betrayals are largely undetected, and the battle scenes are unhampered by any in plotting and considerations of strategy or tactics, with extremely unlikely outcomes. Don't look for complex intrigues or subtle plot twists but, if all you want is an easy read that requires little thought, and are prepared to suspend disbelief, this is worth trying. Sorry Blake, but you have enough writing ability to make it worth your while spending more time developing skills in plotting and characterisation.

Rather disappointing

It’s fine, the readers redeem it a bit. But honestly it’s one of those stories where if people weren’t stupid it wouldn’t have lasted long.
The language is a disappointment too, I and Me in every sentence, he hasn’t mastered narrative. Excessive use of pronouns is just sloppy.

‘I, me, I, me’

Both readers were brilliant and brought each person to life left me wanting more a sad ending to Owen and Zara and Mages Warriors

Loved this so much sulking that it's finished

just like a mixture of every previous fantasy epic thrown together without the same quality.
