Summary
You don't want to play their games....
All around Albuquerque, New Mexico, young women are going missing, seemingly vanished into thin air. With no link between the victims, Detective Alyssa Wyatt is quickly plunged into a horrifying case with no obvious clues.
And when Jersey Andrews, the best friend of Alyssa's teenage daughter, Holly, joins the list of vanished girls, the case becomes personal.
But this investigation will lead Alyssa and partner Cord into the most sinister depths of humanity; an evil place where life is expendable and where the depraved can fulfill their darkest desires - if they have the money to pay for it.
As the first bodies appear, abandoned on the streets, Alyssa is forced into a frantic hunt to track down the killers - before more innocent women lose their lives. But when the truth comes out, it seems that the key to solving the case was hiding in the last place anyone expected....

Mediocre
Not good
Not bad
Easy listening in a way doesn’t require much attention
Seems to repeat a lot of stock phrases and expressions frequently, also listened to the first book in the series involving Alyssa Wyatt detective and it was largely similar

Amazing narration and compelling story
I listened to this book in one day! Once I started I couldn’t stop. The narrator, Kate Zane has an amazing talent, capturing emotion from the story and presenting it in a raw, believable manner which is so gripping that you feel what the characters are feeling. Really impressive. Storyline was well written. Can’t wait for the next one!!!

Truly awful....
Nonsense, utter nonsense. ZERO character development; and the plot relies on a series of coincidences. This is not a mystery, or a police procedural; it’s more like a Lifetime move in book form. And the narrator has breathy whispery voice that is beyond annoying. I’ll save you a credit. HARD PASS.

Not accurate of population
The population of Albuquerque is around 45% hispanic. All of the characters were white except the guilty woman. And the police officer from Santa Fe was Cajun.

Graphic
This was well done but the first time ever I had to stop listening because the subject matter made me sick to my stomach. Well written and well performed. I do find that I really like the characters as this is the second read from this author.

A different sort of crime writer
Charly Cox goes where many writers won't and manages it without explicit detail. Excellent writing

I've heard better.
Get a different narrator. I spent the whole time listening to her nasal twang which made it hard to focus. I gave up at Chapter 10.

Again I’m wowed 🤩
Stop now and listen to “All His Pretty Girls.” Then, read this story. Again, this writer had my mind going left and right. Also beware it is disturbing but a story that has you wanting to find out who’s behind what’s happening. Throws in those surprises and is overall thrilling.

Great, Realistic story.
I'm glad they always get the bad guys, the unfortunate part is this really happens in real life and not always ends well. That being said I still absolutely loved this book. I'm ready to see what Alyssa gets into next.

BUY A DIFFERENT AUDIOBOOK
This story really wasn’t much of a mystery or thriller, and the subject matter was not original or very interesting. The narrator did a nice job. I do not recommend wasting a credit for this audiobook.
