Summary

"A heart-stopping, breath-stealing masterpiece of romantic suspense!" (Colleen Coble, USA Today best-selling author)

EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient - and a serial killer on the loose - tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's help. But she's not out of the woods yet.

In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer - before he catches one of them.

Best-selling and award-winning author Lynette Eason is back with another high-octane tale of close calls, narrow escapes, and the fight to bring a nefarious criminal to justice.

Frustrating narration

I LOVE Lynette Eason and have so looked forward to this book coming out. While I have just begun the audiobook, the story has already sucked me in (as usual). However, the narrator is ruining the experience! She is talking so low that she sounds like she is whispering. The beginning of the book has intense scenes that almost get missed with the whisper-like nature of her voice. Not only that, but she has a nasal sound and, so far, has made the main female character sound like her voice shakes with every word. The male voices are simply annoying. It is so sad that such a good storyline is negatively influenced by the narrator.

Another great one

I have been an admirer of Lynnette Eason’s books for awhile and this book delivers on all the reasons why. The twists and turns keep you guessing and wanting to find out what is next. I love books that have strong women characters and this book has one in the form of a helicopter pilot named Penny. I really hated to have the book end. This was my first time listening to this narrator and I thought she did an excellent job. Thank you Lynnette Eason for bringing these characters alive.

Keeps you guessing

Prepare yourself for so many twists and turns going about a million miles an hour, you would pray that you don’t get whiplash!!
But in all seriousness, I had a hard time pausing this audiobook. It was one of Ms. Eason’s best!
There are multiple subplots that are well defined and easy to follow without being confusing.
On a scale of 1 - 10, I give this book 10++++

I’m so excited to see that it will be a series.

Horrible Narration

I cannot believe for the life of me that this company would think for one minute that this narrator did any good for this book!!! I want to choke the narrator!! She’s awful!!! Worst ever!! Shame on the producers of this book that allowed someone to ruin someone’s hard work!!! The story Wasn’t bad, the narrator destroyed it!!!!

Lynette worst story ever

I love listening to Audible and can't wait to listen to Lynette books....her books are addicting....I have loved everything that she has and I bought everyone....this books sucks big time....was she not feeling good when she wrote this one?....I just can't get over all the whining from the agent....I have had to restart this story several times because the man is a wimp.....he isn't like her usual strong leading men. I do like Penny, but she is much too strong for the wimpy FBI agent.....what happen Lynette ? ....this one is going to return and won't be buying the rest of this series.....I just can't stomach this book....I'm so disappointed in this title.....the story would have been better if there was a strong lead to counter Penny's....I have never been disappointed in Lynette books but this one is a return for sure.

Thriller

Wow. So typically I listen to books before bed, but this one gets my heart rate up and my mind moving like crazy. It’s suspenseful and has elements of a thriller. So good. Highly recommend. Ready to purchase book 2, but I need the sun to come up first.

Don’t bother

The performance was terrible with flat, slow narration. The writing was very stilted with unrealistic dialogue. I made it halfway through chapter two before I stopped. Very disappointed.

Terrible narration

Story overall is good however the narrator is horrible. It’s like listening to a robocall or my beginner reader reading me a story. Gonna be one I need the actual book to really get in to. Overall getting a two because the story line is good but the narration is so bad it takes away from the story line.

Wrong narrator for this kind of book.

The suspense was good, but the narrator was not right for this story, which kind of ruined it for me. Her interpretation of the villain was annoying. I might try another book by this author with a different narrator.
