Summary

All new from bestselling psychological thriller writer Keri Beevis

When you’re a kid, you imagine monsters to have horns and fangs. That they hide under the bed or in the wardrobe. And you believe they can only come after you when it’s dark.

You don’t expect them to look like everyday people or that they may be someone you already know…

The summer in question started out with hot, fun-filled days and new friendships.

We had just turned thirteen and had our whole lives ahead of us.

But that was before her....

Before we became known as the Hixton Five and our lives become defined by one night.

It’s hard to believe twenty years have passed since she was locked away.

But now she’s free and strange things have started to happen.

When I close my eyes, the creeping anxiety and fear is overwhelming and all too real.

Because the monster is back, and I know she has a score to settle with us.

My new favourite from Keri Beevis

The Sleepover by Keri Beevis is my new favourite book from Keri, I love Keri’s writing style and as usual this book had me guessing until the end, it also played on some of my deepest fears and left me reeling in places but what a brilliant story!

The narration is excellent with the narrator building the tension so well and the different characters are very skilfully portrayed.

This book is a triumph! Loved it!❤️

Nice build up of suspense

Nice build up of suspense. This book kept you guessing till the very end I enjoyed Halle opened up and revealed more information but didn’t give you everything at one time suspense is meant to be built on suspense. Yes it was hard to read in certain places but it could’ve been a lot worse! I’d like the character build up I’d like the people I could’ve swore certain people were other people in the story so I don’t know how I got bill to be his mother but I thought so! The performance was excellent I’d love the British accent and how well it was. The voice of Mrs. W scared the life out of me and I never like to hear it because it got me down deep. Gave me shivers. Great job I’m going to look to see what else this author has written. A good read a quick read and one that kept you guessing to the very very end which I like. When I’m caught by surprise in a book it’s like eating a hot fudge sundae

Flat and Lifeless

From page one this book is so dull, the characters so two dimensional, that it’s incredibly difficult to get drawn into.
It’s a really bad indication when narration by the one and only Imogen Church can’t even keep the reader engaged.
This story is poorly written, there is no real mystery either as it’s utterly obvious to the reader what’s going on from the first few chapters.
This the second and final book I’ll ever attempt to read by Keri Beevis.
I’m officially done.
Do not make the same mistake I did and get sucked in by the summary,
It’s literally so boring it put me to sleep twice.
Sorry, I hate leaving negative reviews (I’m no author, and I can only imagine how difficult it is to produce a well written and engaging book) but keep it moving and buy something, anything other than this.

Tedious

Very dark story. Very involved. It scares you but then bores you. It’s a long nightmare.
