About this listen

Eyes Peeled is the Isle of Man’s first and only detective agency. Not much happens on the idyllic Island that needs detecting, so on the whole, the team is not the most adept. In fact, generally speaking, they’re pretty useless.

One of the agency’s more eager employees is Sam Levy. Nearing 40, he’s finally found a job he actually loves - even if he isn’t particularly good at it. Okay, let’s be honest. He’s rubbish. Still, Sam’s services are secured by persons unknown to track down a glamorous yet mysterious art dealer recently arrived on the sleepy Island. Her arrival itself isn’t overly suspicious...but the international crime boss hot on her tail most certainly is!

Sam is desperate to prove himself and impress his pretty colleague, but this investigation could end up putting him in rather a spot of bother, with our hero risking life, limb and hairpiece! With this case, he could well have bitten off more than he can chew.

Loved the characters

I laughed out loud from start to finish and didn’t want it to end. Looking forward to the next one.

A cheeky, fun little story that’s a pleasure to listen to.

Overall a nice bit of fun writing, with plenty of interesting characters, adult humor and pace.
If you live on the Isle of Man you’d know how ridiculous the events taken place are but hay, fiction is the perfect place for that.
I found parts of the story to be a bit all over the place ,however, this added to its depth rather then just being right out confusing.
My only cons would be of the narration. Frazer isn’t a bad voice actor by any means but some parts were filled with unusual pauses, as if he lost his place while reading.
All in all, a great listen. Well done J C Williams.

Another brilliantly funny book!

I don’t know how I came across J C Williams but I love his stories set on the Isle of Man. It makes me want to visit!
This one is no exception. I’m working my way through them all!
Thank you Mr Williams 😊

American accent

There was a great deal of bad and gratuitous language! It was not necessary and did nothing to enhance the story

Light-hearted murder

I love cozy crime as a genre and this is a fab example of it.
Fun colourful characters and an enjoyable story in a beautiful setting.
I'm now off to choose another story by J.C. Williams 😃

Didn't finish.

The humour felt forced at times and the plot too stretched. Gave up with 3hours to go sadly.

Easy Listening.

Simple, easy listening and an enjoyable storyline that had heart warming backstory to one of the main characters. Not one to take seriously a little too comedic to believe in. Did enjoy listening to this episode though
