Summary
Eyes Peeled is the Isle of Man’s first and only detective agency. Not much happens on the idyllic Island that needs detecting, so on the whole, the team is not the most adept. In fact, generally speaking, they’re pretty useless.
One of the agency’s more eager employees is Sam Levy. Nearing 40, he’s finally found a job he actually loves - even if he isn’t particularly good at it. Okay, let’s be honest. He’s rubbish. Still, Sam’s services are secured by persons unknown to track down a glamorous yet mysterious art dealer recently arrived on the sleepy Island. Her arrival itself isn’t overly suspicious...but the international crime boss hot on her tail most certainly is!
Sam is desperate to prove himself and impress his pretty colleague, but this investigation could end up putting him in rather a spot of bother, with our hero risking life, limb and hairpiece! With this case, he could well have bitten off more than he can chew.

Another brilliantly funny book!
I don’t know how I came across J C Williams but I love his stories set on the Isle of Man. It makes me want to visit!
This one is no exception. I’m working my way through them all!
Thank you Mr Williams 😊

happy endings
an Ok, story, spoilt by awful , narration ! almost, every sentence, divided into, multiple, sections without, any reason. if you enjoy reading the first 2 sentences then you may enjoy this story but for me it was spoiled by such awful punctuated nation which almost made it unlistenable. I'm sorry but I won't bother with any more in the series.

Nothing
Too much lavatorial “humour” and adolescent sexual innuendo, is the author a teenager? Silly story. Waste of a credit.

Abysmal
If you like Frank Spencer or Mr Bean you might find this slightly entertaining but I found it quite dreadful. The main character is a prize idiot who is so ineptly disfunctional that it's a wonder he can dress himself. The author has done little research, meaning there are gaps in the storyline you could drive a bus through.
IMO, this book should never have been published.

Not recommended
This is the first audible book that I was unable and unwilling to finish. I originally chose it as I was looking for something lighthearted, frivolous and funny. This book has none of these qualities it is a poorly written narrative that only succeeds in being irritating. I'll forgive the narrator because he has no chance to perform well when the characters are not only unbelievably stupid they are also inept but not in an hilarious way but in a deeply frustrating way. I'm sorry I had to stop at the end of chapter 4 and I only got that far because I thought " surely it can't go on being so dull?^ I was wrong in my thinking it only got worse.
