Summary

A breath-taking, high-octane debut thriller that will have you leaving your lights on well into the night.

It's happening again. A mutilated body discovered in the woods. A murderous plan conceived in the past. A reckoning 70 years in the making....

Charlie Priest, ex-detective inspector turned London lawyer, is hired by influential entrepreneur Kenneth Ellinder to investigate the murder of his son. But Priest is no ordinary lawyer. Brilliant yet flawed, this case will push him, and those closest to him, to the edge.

Priest traces the evidence back to the desperate last days of the Second World War. Buried in the ashes of the Holocaust is a secret so deadly its poison threatens to destroy the very heart of the establishment. With more victims going missing, Priest realises that not everyone should be trusted. As he races to uncover the truth, can he prevent history from repeating itself?

Great 👍

I really enjoyed this, a bit of everything and i love the narrator.

A bit gritty at times so probably not for those with a weak stomach or those who are easily offended.
it made me gasp aloud several times, 🤣🤭

A brilliant new fun find

Having read and enjoyed all the books by Keith McCarthy, I am very happy to have found another author whose writing is as intelligent, entertains and captivating.

Also, due credit to Tim Bruce for an excellent and entertaining narration.

5* all round

Excellent

Really enjoyed this book. Took me a little while to get into it and become familiar with all the characters but once I did I loved it. Very interesting storyline. I hope there is more to come from Priest!
