Summary

There are three things that are certain in this life: death, taxes, and the fact that if I want something, I will get it...no matter what it takes.

From the moment I laid eyes on Olivia Cooper, I knew she was mine. She didn’t agree, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me.

She was all I thought about. She was my obsession. So, I watched. I studied. I toyed with her and I played my games. In her I’d found my perfect match, because she met every single one of my challenges with one of her own.

She fought back and I loved it. All good things are worth fighting for, right? Trouble was, she thought it was all a game, but I would never give up. I saw something in her that made me crave more.

What did she see in me? Cruelty. Savagery. A street soldier with a thirst for vengeance. I was a virus and she was immune. Or was she?

Where I come from, they call me The Psycho. And I’m about to show the world exactly why.

The Psycho is a dark, new adult standalone romance. It contains scenes of a violent and sexual nature and is therefore it is intended for mature listeners. Trigger warnings include stalking, physical violence and psychotic tendencies.

Well... I've expected for more...

So many videos on TikTok praised this book, a friend who read it said I MUST read!
So when I found out it was going to be translated I decided that was my cue to start it.

I love $tàlkér$, I love dàrk romance, I love crazy fúckéd-up H, I love books that blow my mind with a serious mindfüçk!

Those who have seen the movie "S$úícídé $qúàd" and loved it will probably love to this book - the style of the Harlem vibes, a unit of soldiers who call themselves the "soldiers of anarchy", a group of crazy people who take it upon themselves to be the law and order, they set up the revenge of the weak in whatever way they see fit - and of course in the most brutal way 😂

Adam Noble, known as "The Psycho", sets his sights on the wrong woman from the opposite side of town but there's nothing in the world that can stop him when he's determined - and right now all he can think about Olivia Cooper is "She's mine!"
Liv Cooper doesn't flinch, doesn't blink, doesn't make a sound or give Adam a look when this caveman barks at her to meet him outside, and when she finally answers him she dares to send him to hell and insult him without blinking 😂
And of course this p$ychøpãth smiles and decides to fight for the woman who stares at him with disgust🤦🏻‍♀️😂

So I give this book 3.5 🌟 and I will also explain why:
• What worked for me in the book and I loved it - I loved Liv, I love h with a backbone of steel, the kind who are not afraid to open their mouths and roar back their opinions.
I loved the anarchist soldier unit, they felt to me like a close-knit family, madly crazy in the best kind of way.
• What didn't work for me in the book and I connected less - Slow Burn isn't my favorite trope, I felt that it took too long until the meeting between Adam and Liv, and I also wanted more emphasis on their acquaintances and less emphasis on the tremendous attraction between them.
I felt like It was a bit çrüël towards the end (even though the twist was really çrãzy I didn't expect anything else to happen, so it caught me completely off guard!).

Waiting and looking forward to the next books and hoping they will better 🙏🏻❤️

Dosent have the normal plot twist

It’s a good book with a different plot twist. At first I was a bit concerned about the trigger warning but it was not a lot and if was not a long scene.

🎧 what a great story

Faye Adele Shane East are the narrators to this awesome story.
These two brought the story written by Nikki J. Summers to life. I loved Faye’s voice, but Shane could read a dictionary and I’d listen 😆
I’ve read the book, now I’ve listened to the audio, and both have become firm favourites that I’ll listen/read again and again.

Absolutely brilliant

The Psycho was in my top ten reads of 2021 and I was so happy when Nikki said it was coming to audio. I pre-ordered the minute it let me and sat waiting all night on the 31st for it to hit my library but audible being audible it didn’t land until 7am UK time . I wasn’t let down the narration was perfect Shane really brought Adam and the guys to life and Faye was the perfect Olivia . If you’ve read the book you really need to listen as well as it brings a whole new experience to the book and if you haven’t read it ,why not go get it read now!

I really wanted to love this book especially since the narration is amazing! Unfortunately I found it confusing early on and I just wasn’t able to connect with the characters. Plenty love it so it’s one of those it’s not you it’s me.

dark twisted and gripping

Great story and dark heros. Follow Adam as he stalks Olivia into a bond of cat and mouse at first but evolves into something more as secrets are uncovered and danger is released. only complaint was even though Shane East was FABULOUS there were times whe it was hard to make out what he was saying without head phones and though Faye did female voices with excellence her male voices (especially with accents) could use a pep talk

Not rooting for these characters.

He was nasty, she was nasty, why should I care about these characters?

SPOILERS!! The whole book, Psycho (I forgot his name) can’t stop reminding the reader what a badass he is. This is his town, these are his streets, he’s a “soldier” of the street. They’re all the toughest of the tough guys, and he’s the toughest of them all! Yah. Got it. Move on. But no; kid’s obviously got something to prove. I see these characters being psychotic 18-year-olds. Super immature.

Olivia is rude and stupid (no sense of self-preservation whatsoever). All I can surmise from reading Olivia is that the author has a big fat chip on her shoulder. Olivia’s only redeeming quality is her care of her little brothers, which he didn’t know at first, but only discovers because HE STALKS HER. AND SHE ENCOURAGES IT. Seriously, what the hell?!?

The ending where he and his mates brutally, and in glorious, torturous fashion, murder THE WRONG MAN and there doesn’t appear to be any consequence externally or even internally… No thanks.

NARRATION: I LOVE Shane East. He’s actually the reason I went for this book. With his thick, cockney accent in this, I kept thinking Karl Urban in The Boys. Shane did a good job, as did Faye Adele.

Psycho stalker romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🧐🤨🙄🤤

The heroine: Olivia - she has been done wrong in her life and a lot of people have think she is something she isn’t. Partially because she is outspoken and unafraid. Men have used her and she is afraid all any man will ever want from her is one night.

The Hero: Adam - a true psychopath, Adam doesn’t have feelings. He hears voices in his mind and doesn’t feel regret or remorse. This is why he is perfect as the de facto leader of the Soldiers of Anarchy. He and his friends in the Soldiers are a gang that are trying to improve their city. They own a club and each have a room in the penthouse apartment above the club. They clean up the streets by acting as a kind of vigilante force.

The Story: Adam is the baddest guy around and after seeing Olivia, he knows he wants her to be his. She quiets the voices in his head. So he stalks her and he texts her. Olivia is aware of him and knows who he is, and she likes it. She answers his texts boldly and is audacious in her response to him. She knows she should fear him but she doesn’t.

The book is told in dual points of view and narrated in dual narration by Faye Adele and Shane East. Both narrators have British Accents and they were perfect for the story. Shane East is one of my favorite narrators and I just love his voice. Faye Adele also has a very pleasing voice which sounds age appropriate for Olivia.

I usually love stalker love stories, even more so when the Hero is a psychopath or sociopath. I did enjoy this book but there was something about it that I just didn’t connect with. Maybe because though Adam was a killer, the Soldiers of Anarchy is a group that does good. My love of Dexter is probably shining through here, since the soldiers go after pedophiles, rapists and more. So maybe I just don’t see him as bad as he is supposed to be.

“We were the good guys doing very, very bad things. Broken angels doing the devils work.”

Also Adam seemed tamer in his stalking than I expected. Maybe that was because Olivia knew who he was and knew he was always out there watching her. He was also a genuinely nice guy to her and dreams of a home and family with her. It all seems so white picket fence and daisies. I guess I just wanted him to be a bit more Psycho.

Left me confused & unfulfilled 🫤

Shane East is definitely one of my favorites 😅 BUT this storyline/plot kept dragging on & on. The female character was an irritating, inconsistent woman with a ton of issues. She needed a good therapist not a persistent, hot stalker lol Plus she came across as an insecure teenager instead of a confident woman being pursued by an intriguing bad boy. I was hoping this book would be an in-depth novel full of spicy love scenes that would keep me on the edge for numerous chapters. Unfortunately, it was not 🤷🏽‍♀️

I liked it

I listened to this pretty much straight through. The only thing I was disappointed with is that someone didn't get what they deserved and someone didn't get any credit for saving a life. Other than that it was great and definitely worth a credit.

FANTASTIC

-AUDIOBOOK REVIEW-
It's official, I stepped over to the dark side!
I thought dark romance just wasn't for me, I thought it would be too heavy on my pure, little sensitive heart, but I was so wrong!
It's strange; the hero does something bad, but I still defended him in my head because he is doing it for love, and love always wins. Does thinking like this make me messed up too?
Nikki J. Summers is the one who lured me into trying dark romance, her amazing edits of The Psycho (book 1 of The Soldiers Of Anarchy) on Instagram made me curious, and now I'm a fan. I loved every second of this audiobook and was unable to stop listening.
Adam was a magnificent MC, he did some terrible things, but his reasons were good. He is a true psycho, has voices in his head, and it looks like his heart is as cold as a stone. Only one person can warm his heart a little, Olivia. She quiets the voices and brings a sense of peace to him. He has to have her and will do anything to get her.
Olivia is feisty and strong and doesn't take shit. She has everything she wants except someone who truly sees her and knows her.
Olivia and Adam are two broken souls that are perfect for each other. Adam stalks Olivia and drives her crazy, but does he really? The push and pull between them was fantastic, and their love made me all soft.

The world-building was excellent, I wish I could step inside and see it for real. The story is constantly moving but is easy to follow.

This book is told in dual narration by Faye Adele and Shane East. Both narrators used a British accent and were very consistent with it. It was my first time listening to Faye Adele, overall, she has a pleasant voice, but I didn't like the voice she used for Adam, and in my opinion, it didn't suit his character.
But their performance made up for this; these narrators didn't just tell the story. They played it out and made it real.

If you love dark, stalker romance, I strongly recommend listening to/reading The Psycho. It's a great story that will pull at all your heartstrings and make you need a cold shower.

Hello Psycho!

Adam is what the book title says - the psycho. He is part of the Soldiers of Anarchy but I see them more as anti heroes righting the wrongs done to others by bad people. They just do it in a dark and crazy way.

Adam falls quick and hard for Olivia and although he is a bit of a stalker it is done in an interesting way. She fully knows who he is and that he is doing it and secretly I think she enjoyed every minute.

Looking forward to see what else these soldiers have in the rest of the series!

I did not finish the book, a quarter of the way through and I had to stop.
