Summary

The thrilling new romance from E. L. James, author of the phenomenal number one best-selling Fifty Shades trilogy.

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections and money, he’s never had to work, and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.

But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past. Reticent, beautiful and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?

From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the listener breathless to the very end.

Beyond boring

this has to be the most boring book I have ever listened to, it was so monotonous and so repetitive and about as interesting as painting a white wall over a white wall

Enjoyable read - I still have unanswered questions

I loved how this book was narrated, particularly the male voice. I enjoyed the fact that they read their own parts throughout the book instead of mimicking the opposite sex's voice. I loved the first part of the book but I felt like the story died down in the middle and I was waiting for things to happen, parts of the book were predictable but overall I enjoyed this story. I still have unanswered questions and I would like to now how things turned out when they returned to England.

Even listening to it was a torture

I got this book for my birthday even though I don’t like this authors writing (and the person knew that). It was painful to read. But then I got it on audible and it was painful to listen too. Didn’t like it

Awful, dull boring story. If I could give it no stars I would.

Don’t waste your time reading this. The story is predictable, uses dreadful stereotypes, and the characters are just uninspiring.

Brilliant

Loved the switch between accents, small clips of the paino pieces and the swap between characters perspectives. This audiobook brought the story alive. Thank you

Better than Fifty Shades

Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t put it down, hope there’s a sequel. Had me gripped from start to finish.

Disappointed but ok

Huh not sure I liked I didn't connect with the characters as much. And nothing really surprised me. I'm a bit disappointed.
