Summary

The first standalone novel in The Pucked Series

With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants.

Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant - and quirky - gifts. Suddenly he's too difficult to ignore and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn't want to be part of the game.

Fantastic

Absolutely loved this book from the get go. Laugh out loud funny. Fantastic story. Super hot characters. Love sports books, and hockey is my most favourite. A super fun wonderfully sexy romance that I didn't want to end.

So disappointed!

I finally got round to Pucked after it’s been in my audible library for so long. Saw so many positive reviews so maybe I’m in a minority but I’ve had to give up at a little over 50% !
If I had to hear the words “beaver” “wang” “jilling off” “monster cock” along with many other childish words, one more time I was going to weep in a darkened room 😤🙈
The main female character is beyond immature with the ridiculous language she keeps using. Honestly.... I don’t even want to insult teenagers by saying it’s more for their genre.... most teenagers I know would even find this book just stupid.
But if you constantly want to read about the h “jilling off her beaver” or looking at her mans “wang” or “monster cock” .. crack on. It just REALLY wasn’t for me.

A true favourite

I loved reading this on my Kindle so thought I'd try out the audio while driving instead of listening to music. Loved the female narrator as she really brought Vi to life and she gave Alex heart when voicing his dialogue in Vi's chapters. Wasn't such a fan of the guy voicing Alex as all dialogue moved very quickly so seemed a bit rushed. Enjoyed it overall tho as always with Helena's books.

Excellent and laugh out loud

Perfect light funny sexy first book in the series. The female isn’t a shy, needs to be turned bold, virgin but a strong sexual hilarious person.

Narration

Before purchasing this book I read the reviews and thought that the male reader couldn't really be that terrible. WRONG! It was dreadful! If the reader makes or breaks a book for you think strongly before giving in to this. I loved the female reader and the story though.

Why can't we have separate reviews for each narrator?

This book was hysterically funny, with a quirky, awkward, real characters. The female narrator was fantastic. The male narrator was great when he was speaking like someone from the US. Otherwise, he sounded a cockney-Irish-Scottish guy pretending to be Canadian but sounding more confused than anything else. Usually, I look forward to a change in narrator when a new chapter starts. This is the first time I've actually groaned in defeat when the male character started a chapter. If it weren't for how incredibly talented the female narrator was, I would have returned the audiobook and instead read it on my kindle.

Great Story but what's with the accent

The characters were quirky and hilarious beginning to end but WTF with the "Canadian" accent. Irish, Scottish, Welsh. Not the sure what the hell that was. It might have passed for mangled maritime but sure as hell not Guelph. Get it right or don't bother.

Great story, horrible male narrator

I have been so excited for this book to make it to audible. It was not a disappointment!! Helena Hunting is a rockstar. I laughed out loud many times. The female narrator was fantastic. But the male narrator was horrific!! I mean, it had the potential to nearly ruin the book. I cringed the entire chapters that he read. It was seriously awful!!

Love this book! Hilarious, hot, and hockey!

I absolutely loved this audiobook. It was smoking hot and laugh out loud funny. My only issue was the male narrator. I would have preferred that Muffy Newtown narrated the entire book. Can't wait for book 2!

4 Puck ME Star’s

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed this book. It was light, very humorous, and HELLO Canadian’s!! I didn’t find it a deep read. It was surface and fun and flirty just the right kind of book to read in between those dark and twisty reads.

Being as I am Canadian, I loved the narrators BOTH of them. It wasn’t to hooky. But if I say eh like that someone smack me lol. Just kidding.. not really

I loved Violets wit, lord have mercy she cracked me up. And all the beaver talk. Gosh that was funny. I will never think of “jilling it” without thinking of her I swear to god.
I very much enjoyed the brother, sister relationship between Buck and Violet. Even with the STEP, in there it was very much like they had grown up together made for good dynamic.

Alex oh what to say about this fella that Violet hasn’t already said… esp about The MC..
I do like how things went down with him mom. And even after all the “other stuff” how he makes it right.
I also LOVED that he was a figure skater, and not just for a little bit of time but for a long time. That was really neat. I don’t’ know why I liked it I just did. |

‘Those pretty, pretty eyes bore into mine the way they did the first time I saw him play.’

In the audio… I cracked up the most about 13 mins till the end so much I had tears from laughing so hard. I won’t give anything away just that was FUNNNY… yes it need more N’s ;)

*All my Reviews are 100% honest and my own.*

Holy accent, Batman!

What was with the male narrator? He was supposed to be performing a Canadian accent, but sounded more like Scottish-British-Jersey boy. He made Alex seem creepy sometimes. Muffy should have narrated the whole book. Don’t let this turn you off from listening, because the story is beyond hilarious! Luckily, the male narrator doesn’t perform much at all.

Muffy was a hit

There's so much greatness and I'm typing from my phone so I can't list it all... I loved almost everything about this book... this author is a 1st for me but I am an instant fan... I laughed so hard....

This narration team is also a 1st for me and I must say I love Muffy! Nathan on the other hand sucked... his nasal voice was irritating. I've refunded books and/or couldn't finish them for bad narration like his BUT this book is so well written and Muffy narrates 95% of the book I dealt with Nathan's horrid narration.

Pucked #1

This book was really good Violent reminds me of myself, with the weird things that she be saying. Lol. I Ike how Alex liked her even with her weirdness and didn't try to change her and make her stop, to me both of them was hilarious together lol. And made a cute couple. I also plan in getting books 2-6 because I definitely want to know about Sunny and Buck situation. And the others.
