Summary

I’ve spent a lifetime avoiding the various factions of the mafia in NYC, yet somehow I’m in it up to my eyeballs.

I should be scared.

I should want to run.

Yet, the city quivers in fear with every designer-clad footstep I take, because the Valentinis have ascended, and I’m the Don’s lady.

It’s intoxicating.

However, Luciu comes with vendettas and a craving for vengeance that could get him killed. With my allegiance tied to the Irish, can I say yes, when he wants me to take an oath to the Sicilians?

Is a happily-ever-after in the cards, when the "after" isn’t even promised?

This is the second part of the Oath duet in the Valentini Family series. The Don must be heard first.

Loved this!!

What a fabulous conclusion to Luciu and Jen's story! As with The Don, it is crammed with incident, love, lust, humour, some violence, a betrayal and the heartbreak being experienced by a friend, and, most of all, Jen's growth! She really comes into her own, and I loved Luciu's insistence that she shake of her past and learn ger value.
Again, CJ Bloom and Joe Arden are excellent. They are skilled narrstors who take a text and breath life into it. Absolutely fabulous! 💖💖💖💖💖

All the mafia sexiness my dark soul needed!

Sweet baby Jesus! The Lady is book two in the Valentini family series and is all the mafia sexiness my dark soul could ever desire! The conclusion to Luciu and Jen’s story was everything I wanted it to be and more, so much more!
Jen really comes into her own in this book, her strength, resilience, bravery, and self-growth blew me away! Jen really proves herself as a worthy Queen in this book that also focuses on her journey to finding not only herself but also true love.
Luciu is oh so swoony and so freaking dreamy! I loved how protective he was of Jen and the way he demanded respect from those closest to him towards Jen, he put her on a pedestal and treated her like a lady!
Joe Arden and CJ Bloom reprised their roles as Luciu and Jen. This duo had me engrossed from start to finish with their magnificent performances. I loved how they both managed to bring love, emotion, and lightness to two characters who have dark sides yet together they have brought each other into the light!
As introductions to authors go, I don’t think I could’ve picked a better way to start my journey into the fabulous world of Serena Akeroyd than The Oath Duet. I loved everything about these beautifully written books from the exceptional storyline to the way it interconnects between worlds to the amazing characterisation and the epic love story. I can’t wait for books three and four in the Valentini family series to come out but in the meantime, I’m looking forward to spending valentines with the audio of the Five Points Mob Series.
My favourite and most swoony line of the book “I see you Fi, I have from the very beginning” - Luciu

Love and war

The second book of the Valentini Family and the end of The Oath Duet, is the continuation to The Don and the relationship between Jen and Luciu.

Throughout we find out more about what has happened in the past of both, making them the people they are now!!

We learn the true horrors of what the Fieri's did to the Valententini's and how they found Luciu's father and how he too had been killed!!

We find out the true reason for Jen's less than stellar relationship with Diana, aka mom. The reason why she is, or should I say was, a good digger and why she views men the way she did. Of course Luciu actually changed all of it!!

But what happens when Jen and Luciu go to see Diana, after Jen finally answers her call?!?! Will their relationship begins to heal or will it finally just end and she walks away for good??

Well if you want the answer to that, I'm afraid you're going to have to read the book. But why just read it, when you can also listen to it too. The narrators again are the uber talented C. J. Bloom and Joe Arden.

Trust me when I say, that they really do bring these two characters roaring to life!! C. J is so perfect as the snippity Jen, who can be more prickly than a cactus or porcupine, take your pick.

And Joe just seems to ooze charisma, that you could possibly assume to be, because he's a Sicilian!! But if I'm honest Joe just had one of those voices that can leave a woman panting.

Also C. J really does do a great British accent and that's a huge plus!! Often other narrator's attempt to do one and really fall short and usually leave me wanting to tear my hair out. So for that alone I am grateful 😂😂

In all honesty though, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not getting the two and listen as you read, it's an experience I always rave about, IF the narrator's are good and these two are two of the best out there!!

Recommendations ermmm yep and yep!! Duh!! 🙈🙈

Loved it!

I loved this second book in the duet! Lots of questions have been answered and I can't wait to to read the next book! I loved to see all the characters from the Sinners and the Feckers again. Fi and Luc are a great couple. I think they work perfectly together. Now that I've listened to the audio book as well I have to say both narrators are awesome! Joe Ardens voice gets super deep when he reads some of the spicier scenes!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this duet *chefs kiss*.

I’ve gone from not really clicking with the leading lady to loving her and understanding her reasoning for things. She’s managed to claw her way to the top of my favourite leading ladies. The Don, book one, focused on Luciu and Jen becoming the people they want and need to be. Jen goes from lowering herself so that she can survive and maintain the lifestyle she wants, to realising there are more important things. Her emotional needs and stability are met and she no longer has to put up a front. Luciu not only gives her everything she ever thought she needed, he gives her that things that she never dreamed of asking for. With his place as The Don finally becoming more secure his life finally starts to come together. His and Jens story may not have been perfect but it’s gives us everything we look for in a romance story.
Once again these narrators have given life to a brilliant story. The steam is even hotter on audio and I have to admit that these narrators will be remembered. If you love mafia then I recommend these, if you love audios you’re in for a treat.

I wish there was PT 3!

Safe to say I didn’t want this book to end. It was a good storey and both characters voiced them well. I hope there is more coming of this series.

Absolutely loved listening to the lady brings the characters to life

The lady on audio book was an absolutely fantastic book to listen to you can sit back and relax and get lost in the story of the lady. it is narrated by C J Bloom and Joe Arden and boy they bring the characters to life even more as you listen to there voices you can definitely see and here Jens character come to life through the voices off the narrator they did a fantastic job of reading the lady I absolutely loved it

Well I am lost for words what can I say The Lady Serena Akeroyd you have done it again wrote another absolutely amazing story. I loved The Lady we watch Jen grown and come into her herself and stop believing in what her mum said about men and letting her walls down to become Luciu Riggina (queen)

Luciu and Jen are made for each other they fit together like a glove and the love that they have for each other is off the charts so so happy for them both. But there are still family that feel Luciu shouldn’t be with Jen because they feel she is only after one thing his money but Luciu makes it very clear she is to be treated with respect as Jen is his. the story has twist and turns and stuff happening that just shocked the hell out off me Jen mum Diana how low will she go just to get money at her own daughter’s expense thank god Luciu was there. But the ending was so sweet Jen finally gets her HEA
