Summary
What if you could write your own perfect storyline...? The heartwarming, feelgood novel from the much-loved Sunday Times bestselling author, Milly Johnson.

'Takes you on a classic transformative journey in the most wonderful and original way. What a joy!' Julietta Henderson
Polly Potter is surviving, not thriving. She used to love her job – until her mentor died and her new boss decided to make her life hell. She used to love her partner Chris – until he cheated on her, and now she can’t forget. The only place where her life is working is on the pages of the novel she is writing – there she can create a feistier, bolder, more successful version of herself – as the fictional Sabrina Anderson.
But what if it was possible to start over again? To leave everything behind, forget all that went before, and live the life you’d always dreamed of?
After a set of unforeseen circumstances, Polly ends up believing she really IS Sabrina, living at the heart of a noisy Italian family restaurant by the sea. Run by Teddy, the son of her new landlady Marielle, it’s a much-loved place, facing threat of closure as a rival restaurant moves in next door. Sabrina can’t remember her life as Polly, but she knows she is living a different life from the one she used to have.
But what if this new life could belong to her after all?

A compelling delight!
A truly wonderful story full of twists and turns and not the usual predictable format of most books! I couldn’t stop listening to it! Not wanting to write any spoilers - suffice to say this compelling story will knock your socks off and ensure you’ve not done any housework! Well done Milly - you nailed it.

Excellent
As ever a truly wonderful story, beautifully read and nicely performed. Millie J is a first class writer. This book has everything- a clever plot, a pleasing writing style and laugh out loud moments. I can’t believe that she can write yet another great novel. I feel at a loss now it is finished. Thank You Millie Johnson. X

Milly at her best
Another winner from Milly Johnson. Excellent storyline, beautifully crafted characters and despite some sad moments sprinkled with wonderful humour. The seagull’s revenge is fantastic.

Great story laced with humour and emotion
Loved the juxtaposition of the ‘Trumpets’ cock ups with the main story… then they made perfect sense…. Can’t say anymore or this will be a spoiler!
Poor main character at one point you feel if it wasn’t for bad luck she would’ve had no luck at all!!
This book had me growling, laughing, cheering and cooing so I would really recommend it.
Narrated well and enjoyable to listen to only found myself shouting out different pronunciations of words a handful of times which, for me, is a winner!!!

Warm cosy book of love, loss and friendship.
I loved most of the characters in the book and loved to hate some too! A typical Milly Johnson book in which I know I’m guaranteed a good read whether I’ll be wiping away tears of sadness or laughter as the one liners and northern wit sings off the pages of her wonderful warm stories of love and friendship. Being bosom of female camaraderie is always welcome whether it’s in our own lives or those we feel that we make in Milly’s wonderful books. Can’t wait for the next one!

Totally UnPutDownable!
Milly Johnson has outdone herself, if that were even possible following her previous books!
I’ve absolutely loved The Happiest Ever After from start to finish.
A story within a story, plot within a plot, the continual thread of seagulls and childhood warm memories running throughout.
The yearning for a new life, new adventures, sadness, blankness, getting screwed over at work, within family.
Being dealt blow after blow but emerging stronger than ever even with a different persona.
Inspiration and truly uplifting.
Pure escapism as we dive into the world of Polly aka Sabrina.
The spelling mistakes and apologies from the newspaper publishers are hilarious too.
Ten stars from me, I bought the hardback limited edition too so mi can share the book with my daughters.

What a total surprise. I was invested in Polly right from the beginning. An engaging story that had highs and lows. Will look for more of Milly Johnson’s books. A really lovely book to relax and listen too. Thank you 😊
