Summary

After the devastating loss the team experienced on their last investigation, Midas is hesitant to return to the paranormal field. However, a desperate phone call from a local fire chief and a terrifying experience at an old Mobile fire station draws the leader of Gulf Coast Paranormal back to find answers for the chief and the firefighters. Cassidy immediately goes to work on her sketch while Joshua meets an otherworldly being face-to-face. Bruce brings his archaeological expertise to the table while Sierra finds the third floor intensely haunted.

Overall a great series, but this wasn’t one of my favourites…

After the dramatic conclusion to the Leaf Academy investigation, the team is definitely fractured, in fact Midas is M.I.A. for this entire book! It seems that after the dramatic ups and downs of the last few books in the series, this one (to me) felt slightly flat. Sierra takes the reins and in Midas’ absence heads an investigation on her own, and her sensitive abilities really seem to be flourishing. Cassidy on the other hand seems to be retreating into herself. We also finally get a chapter narrated by Josh!
Hopefully there will be some healing for the group in the next book.
As usual, both narrators do a great job.
An excellent series, especially if you like short-listens.
