Summary

Meet Meg Monroe, the fixer. If you want to get rid of someone, you call Meg. (No, not like that - this would be a very different book!)

Using her brilliant intuition, people-reading skills and with masterful manipulation, Meg befriends her mark and tells them what they want to hear, using it to convince them to see the error of their ways. She's never once found a case she can't handle - affairs, clingy former-friends, useless employees and exes that can't take the hint.

But when a blast from the past turns up on Meg's doorstep, will she get caught in her own web of lies?

Witty and interestingly addictive!

I only downloaded this book for something light & different to listen to in bed without too much romance or drama.
I ended up finishing it in less than 2 days as couldn’t resist putting my earbuds in and hearing what happens next. I was a little disappointed by the ending and wanted Meg to be the intelligent, witty and resourceful character until the last minute so I was disappointed that she was floored so easily! I suppose the writer wanted there to be a “moral” to the story and ended it with a disappointing, less fantastical epilogue. I still thoroughly enjoyed the plot and how different it was and would definitely recommend it as an easy listening/reading book with pleasant narration and a little more plot than your usual chick book. Great for holidays or a beak from anything too serious x

Very Entertaining!!

If you're looking for something light hearted, amusing, interesting and well narrated, this is the one for you!
I got this because I'd just finished reading a couple of psychological thrillers and so felt like listening to something completely different. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. Her job as a 'fixer' was such fun to hear.... what a great job! So unusual.
Some of the situations or expressions had me laughing out loud. Other parts were quite poignant.
It was all tied up nicely by the epilogue which seemed to leave it open for a sequel!!! I really hope so.
It brightened up a few dreary cold winter days whilst driving or ironing. 😃
RECOMMENDED!!!

loved it

very entertaining book! The plot is very original and unpredictable. I loved both main characters; The fixer, despite her questionable job, included.
this is the second title from Claudia Carroll that I listened to, I am now officially a fan.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately the biggest thing that came from this book for me is that people with money can make or break you.

Engaging and Entertaining

I was hooked from start to finish. An entertaining and amusing story of a young woman who’s livelihood is based on manipulation and deceit. A really enjoyable listen.

An unusual story.

I really enjoyed this book. An unusual tale which I couldn’t put down. Tense in parts as I sympathised with the main character.
Will look for more by this author.

Not Recommended, had to give at least one star in order to review

Miserable listen. I’ve never disliked a main character as much as this one. I carried on doggedly hoping she had some redeeming qualities but I disliked her more and felt no sympathy for the circumstances that supposedly made her the way she was. I really liked her job, thought it was quite an original idea and expected it to be told in a humorous way, it was billed as Romantic Comedy, it was neither a romance nor funny. Quick wit and one liners are usually funny but from such unpleasant characters as this one just sound spiteful and sarcastic, you can almost see her snarl. Her “skill” was ridiculous and way overplayed.
Why did I listen to a book I thoroughly disliked? Well I’ve really enjoyed a lot of books that I’m glad I didn’t give up on too soon. By the time I knew there was no way this was getting better I intended reviewing so decided to listen to the end. A new author for me, had already considered and rejected her free download included in membership and I spent money on this book, that makes me the eegit doesn’t it.
The narration was good and easy to listen to.
