Story
Amanda King and Tess Cuffe are strangers who share the same Georgian house, but their lives couldn't be more different. Amanda seems to have it all, absolute perfection. She projects all the accoutrements of a lady who lunches. Sadly, the reality is a soulless home, an unfaithful husband and a very lonely heart. By comparison, in the basement flat, unwanted tenant Tess has spent a lifetime hiding and shutting her heart to love. It takes a bossy doctor, a handsome gardener, a pushy teenager and an abandoned cat to show these two women that sometimes letting go is the first step to moving forward and new friendships can come from the most unlikely situations.

The laugh-out-loud best seller is back with the only book to buy this Mother's Day. Perfect for fans of Outnumbered and Carole Matthews, Fiona writes about life as it really is. Forget about having it all. Sometimes you just want to leave it all behind. Audrey is often seized by the urge to walk out of her house without looking back - but she can't possibly do that. She is a single parent. She is needed. She has a job, a home, responsibilities...and a slothful teenage son's pants to pick up.

Summary
Meet Meg Monroe, the fixer. If you want to get rid of someone, you call Meg. (No, not like that - this would be a very different book!)
Using her brilliant intuition, people-reading skills and with masterful manipulation, Meg befriends her mark and tells them what they want to hear, using it to convince them to see the error of their ways. She's never once found a case she can't handle - affairs, clingy former-friends, useless employees and exes that can't take the hint.
But when a blast from the past turns up on Meg's doorstep, will she get caught in her own web of lies?

Very Entertaining!!
If you're looking for something light hearted, amusing, interesting and well narrated, this is the one for you!
I got this because I'd just finished reading a couple of psychological thrillers and so felt like listening to something completely different. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. Her job as a 'fixer' was such fun to hear.... what a great job! So unusual.
Some of the situations or expressions had me laughing out loud. Other parts were quite poignant.
It was all tied up nicely by the epilogue which seemed to leave it open for a sequel!!! I really hope so.
It brightened up a few dreary cold winter days whilst driving or ironing. 😃
RECOMMENDED!!!

An unusual story.
I really enjoyed this book. An unusual tale which I couldn’t put down. Tense in parts as I sympathised with the main character.
Will look for more by this author.
