Summary

Eden's ready for a new start, putting the past behind her. But others have their own ideas of what's best for her....

The all-absorbing, life-affirming new novel from the best-selling author of Three Weddings and a Proposal and The Missing Wife.

Five years after the death of her firefighter husband, Eden knows better than anyone that life can change in an instant. Now, instead of the future she had planned with Andy, she has Lila—the daughter he never got the chance to meet. And instead of Andy, she has his family.

Then Eden meets someone. Someone she knew before Andy, before Lila, before the tragedy. Someone who reminds her of how she used to be. But Andy's mother has other plans. And Eden is facing an impossible choice. One that could tear a family apart....

Honest and emotionally gripping, What Eden Did Next is an irresistible, sometimes heart-breaking, ultimately joyful novel of love, loss—and finding your own way to happiness.

Easy listening

No complicated plot and likeable characters and the ones who weren’t supposed to be likeable weren’t awful so a pleasant book for a rainy weekend. Not at all taxing and was exactly what I needed after a busy and stressful week. I’d usually prefer something with a bit more bite but sometimes you just need book like this to help you relax. The lilting tone of the narrator helped too.

Wasn’t a fan

Not like the other books, I couldn’t wait for this one to end, started good and I’d listened too to much to return by the time it went wrong. Sort of went nowhere and was a merry go round of sickly sweetness. The in-laws could have been much nastier (I’ve heard of much worse in real life) and the main character wasn’t a weakling from the start so it was not very believable that she’d have put up with any nonsense from that lot especially for 5 years.
