Summary

I love Kate Morton
I have read so many of her books. They are slow burners, packed full of somewhat unnecessary detail, but I enjoy it all the same. When you are focusing on an event you are taken away from said event with other details of other things and time becomes confusing. When returned to the event, the moment has gone. I like her books as they lull me to sleep and even if I miss 5 minutes here or there, I really haven't missed anything. In most of her books, the story is relatively gripping. In this case, it's massively underwhelming and not much really happened. Or nothing that, by the time I got to it, I cared enough to be surprised. Please do not see this review as a reason not to read her books, they are amazing. Real epic sagas, works of art and something she should be very proud of. Just don't start with this one. Most times I am sad to leave behind the characters as I feel like I know them. I felt no connection this time round. Despite this, the next book I choose, will absolutely be another title by Kate Morton.
