Summary
Sam Archer’s life is about to become a lot more complicated. His girlfriend, Freya Rosetti, has just discovered she has a daughter, which shouldn’t even be possible given that she’s never been pregnant. And his fiancé, Lily Dodson, is being haunted by an act she committed in self-defense. Not to mention the appearance of an arrogant superhero with a god-complex who just won’t take ‘no’ for an answer, and who is determined to make their lives miserable in any way he can.
All the while, they anxiously wait for Sam’s supposed friend, Nick Parker, to meet with the shadow organization’s contact to try to discover who is responsible for the immortal super’s repeated torment over the years.
Can Sam sort through the mess unraveling before him, and keep his family safe in the process?
Is he willing to forgive those who have wronged him, and maybe gain a few friends along the way?
Warning: This audiobook contains adult content that may not be suitable for all audiences, including suggestive adult scenes, slight harem elements, graphic violence, talk about self-harming behavior, and alcohol consumption/drug use. However, this book does not attempt to glorify any of the negative topics mentioned previously, and it has both parts that you may find wholesome as well as parts that may make you cry.

Good story burdened with too many change of views
The story suffers from a three key problems which I would dub the White Knight problem, whiplash, and nothing fluff.
The White Knight problem is something I have seen more and more and this book is a major example. It's when all the males of the story are creepy and borderline excessive because of main hero who stands like a beacon among the dregs. Literally this story needs more Nick Parker or any male who isn't sexually harassing a female lead so that the NC seems more normal for being normal.
The whiplash is that this story cuts POV far too much even to minor characters of this book which only slows down the pace and making people more sympathetic I guess.
The fluff issue is that only 1 key plot thing happens during the story and it ends mid way. There are other plot threads but they are only loosely hanging and don't seem to go anywhere.

Excellent sequel
More serious in tone than the first book with a lot more character development. Still wholesome, sexy and dark. Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet have quickly becomed my favorite narration team and their work in this book is excellent. Book 3 here i come.

Good story, jarring audio
The story is entertaining. It's a little bit on the white knight side, but it doesn't detract too much.
My problem was the two narrators. I just can't get use to it. I like to listen to books on 2X, but the switching voices made it hard as the two different narrators are talking at different rates.
