Cabin fever closes in on an isolated park ranger, as two sinister beauties lurk in the desert outside his door. A California divorcee is starting a promising new life. But her young son knows better—because he's seen what's creeping outside the window. A cross-country traveler is on a journey of self-discovery. But one tourist trap holds its own dreadful surprises....
Four strangers with one thing in common: a mysterious train choking the sky with black smoke, charging trackless across the American night...and carrying an unstoppable evil, raised from the bowels of history, that will bring their worst fears to life.

Strange book
I’ve loved most of Bentley littles books always strange and quite gruesome! I was very unsure about this one for the whole of the first half! The second half was better and I managed to make it to the end, I wouldn’t put this one on a level with others I’ve read.

woke garbage
I've bought and enjoyed several books by Benton Little this is not one of them.
I don't purchase horror fiction to be reminded of all the woke p/c garbage in day to day life I buy them to get away from it !!!
I want to be refunded 1 credit.

Sadly not a fan
I have read and loved most of this authors work. I don't know if maybe it was the narration but this one was a chore to get through.

Very strange
I'm a huge Bentley Little fan, but this story had me perplexed. It was not scary and didn't have any of his usual "weirdness" in it. It was dull and seemed to just go on an on. There were way too many "main" characters and there didn't seem to be any cohesiveness. The narration was fine, just an odd story that I struggled to get through.

Trains, mold, and madmen!
I was surprised at how all the different elements were tied together at the end. The diversity of the characters and unique storyline kept the story interesting. It's an excellent creepy listen.

Very much enjoyed this book!
For a Bentley Little book this was very well paced and didn’t bog down as I think some of his other novels have.
I found myself waking up at night and needing to keep listening! I finished it in about 4 days! A record for me!
