Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

David Raker is back with another heart-pounding and tense missing persons case.

Ten seconds before the crash, Cate and Aiden Gascoigne are recorded on CCTV. The couple are laughing—happy, untroubled.

Then their car plunges into a ninety-foot ravine.

The impact should kill them. And if that doesn't, the fire will. Within seconds, the vehicle is an inferno—with the Gascoignes trapped inside.

But when fire crews arrive at the scene, they find something impossible.

The vehicle is empty.

Cate and Aiden have vanished.

Now only missing persons investigator David Raker can solve the mystery....

Another Brilliant Raker Book

This was just as good as all the other Raker books, with twists and turns. I couldn’t put it down!

Good enough!

Not his best but good enough. I enjoyed following David Raker in a new disappearing mystery.

Clever story with a few twists and turns.

The way this story unfolded from the start drew me into the mystery. It jumps around over a period of 30 years but despite this it is easy to follow. I liked the pace and the way it is read.

The Blackbird

As ever, a twisty turny tale of missing people, investigating, and major crimes. Some of Raker's contacts are somewhat unbelievable, such as his access to police records etc.

The narrators all did an excellent job 👏

Slow burner but decent story

I enjoyed the story - cleverly written I thought and very believable. It did get convoluted with the many characters involved but I managed to keep up. I like the fact that this story is from a series - I like David Raker’s character and the fact he has many more stories in him. This is not a page turner by any means but enjoyable just the same. All the narrators were excellent and added to the enjoyment of the book.
