The story:
Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt spent a year fighting as part of the underground resistance on the enemy-held world of Gereon. When he left, he promised that he would bring the forces of the Imperium to liberate Gereon's citizens from their oppressors. Now he has returned, a crusade army at his back, but he finds a world devastated by war and a people irrevocably damaged by the taint of Chaos. Now Gaunt must fight to save Gereon not only from the enemy, but from the Imperium itself.

Brilliant again but
So another chapter closes for Tanith 1st and as ever a riveting story we’ll read. I only have one complaint, where is the next chapter? It should have been “Only in Death” but I’m being offered a story from Two books on “Salvations Reach”! Please get the missing titles on the list recorded, so we can enjoy the whole story so far in sequence. Thanks.

Please complete the series with Toby Longworth
This is my most re-listened to series on audible. The original material is brilliant and Toby's performances really bring everything together. Please keep them coming and please rerecord and complete the set with Toby as narrator!

Ten Books In!
Ten books in and Dan Abnett's story of the Tanith First and Only is as strong as it has ever been. It was a fantastic experience to catch up with my favourite characters once again and worry for them as they power through a new warzone. I cannot wait for audible to release the remaining books in this format so that I may read along! This book truly encapsulates the atmosphere of a claustrophobic warzone and splits its perspective between several character-casts well. And, my god, what a horrific emotional gut-stab at the end. What a great send off and a fantastic way to end the book leaving us wanting more!

A great book and well read
A great book and well read. I love the gaunts ghosts stories and having them as audiobooks is brilliant. I just wish they would hurry up and release the remaining books.
