My now ex-boyfriend, that’s who. One fight—okay, a big fight—because I found out he was cheating on me while we were camping, and poof! He left me in the woods.
So, I start walking to town, only I get turned around and end up at the river, where I meet Axel. This guy is huge.
With a storm rolling in, I don’t have much choice but to trust him and take shelter in his cabin, since I’ve been walking for hours away from town.
Several days of rain wash out the road and it looks like I’m stuck here with my giant. Only he’s nothing like I thought he’d be. He’s quiet, watchful, smart, and funny.
Axel
I’ve lived alone for years, and I’ve been okay with that—until one day she finds me bathing at the river.
She is small, cute, and talks a lot. I find I don’t mind it.
When the storm washes out the only road into town and she is stranded with me a while longer, I am grateful for more time with her.
I like her in my space. I like showing her what I do, and how I survive out here. I like her in my bed.
After years of living alone, I find little appeal in it anymore.
When her ex-boyfriend shows up at my door, can I convince her to stay?
Can I ask her to give up a life in town for one out here in the mountains with me?
This is a steamy, gentle giant, mountain man romance. No cliff-hangers. As always, there is a satisfying happily ever after.

Emelie & Axel!
It started out as a romantic camping adventure that would allow Emelie to spend some time with her boyfriend, but their trip took a turn as not only had he betrayed her but her left alone with no supplies. She knows she needs to find her way home but that is easier said than done until she comes across a sexy mountain man who comes to her rescue.
Axel may be large in stature, but his heart is even bigger. He is enchanted by Emelie from their first meeting and when a storm has them spending time together at his cabin those feelings only become stronger, but will he be able to convince her that when the storm leaves, she doesn’t have to?
Emelie is a gift that Axel never thought he would receive while Axel shows Emilie what love truly is and seeing the romance between them is everything you could ask for and more. The narrators were a great choice for the characters as they brought out both the sensitive and strong sides of Axel as well as the independent side of Emelie. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Nice to listen to

First time listened/read this author and it was easy to listen to.
I felt at time like she was immature and I also wasn’t keen on their nicknames for each other but I liked the book overall and I wanted to find out about the other characters

Take ME to the River!!
This was a pretty entertaining listen. The story was quick, but did not feel rushed. The narrators were on point with their performance, and fit the story and dialogue well. The characters were fun to get to know and made the story.

Good Listen
Emelie dumps her boyfriend and he leaves her stranded in the woods. She walks up on a stranger and he rescues her. Now she must show him that size does not matter and he is everything that she wants and loves his way of living.

A Mountain Man Romance
Take Me To The River by Kaci Rose is a mountain man romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Krys Janae and Javi Wilder. This is the first book in the Mountain Men Of Whiskey River series and can be read as a standalone.
I liked the relationship between Emelie and Axel. Their relationship moves quickly but they bring out the best in each other. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book.
Krys and Javi did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like instant connection romances, mountain man romances, or contemporary romance.

amazing
I enjoyed this story of Axel and Emelie. great story line characters. almost felt a old historical type romance. I do feel there was some overkill or fluff. kept repeating things over.
the narrators were both new to me.. they were amazing. great job on characters.

A gorgeous mountain man?
Emelie has an awful boyfriend, but when she gets lost in the woods and there is a gorgeous man bathing in the river who wants to be find lol I enjoyed listening to this romance with a kind man looking after her. Axel is super protective and caring but also very sexy. Good narration and hours of entertainment.

Sweet romance
This story was very sweet. I love an overprotective man and this one didn’t disappoint. Emily and Axel and so sweet together and I liked how they took care of each other. The story is a bit over the top but what good mountain man story isn’t?
Definitely recommend.

Heck yeah take me to the river!
Let me start off by saying this cover is what dreams are made of 😍
I searched, right off the bat, for more audiobooks books by Kaci Rose. I loved the start of this series. Kaci is new to me and I can’t wait for more of this series.
Emelie is just getting started on a camping trip with her boyfriend when she discovers his infidelity. After confronting him, she does what any of us girls would do. Takes a walk to figure out what to do about it. And he leaves her there without anything 😳
I can’t fathom any guy just up and leaving any woman alone in the woods. WTH but thankfully as a storm approaches after trying to find a road out of the wilderness she happens to come across a man bathing in the river.
I live close to the Rocky Mountains and let’s just say, boyyo if I came across a mountain man who was ready to save me, sign me up!
Axel can’t believe his eyes when a beautiful woman stumbles upon him but he knows he has to protect her.
He’s totally a real mountain man, living off the land yet with knowledge enough to build himself a real life. He has a well built home, is self sufficient and has ways to make a living off the land he loves and with friends nearby he thinks he will be alone forever, but when Amelie enters his world he hopes he can convince her to try his lifestyle too.
These two were meant for each other. I loved the flow of this book how Emelie responds to Axel. He was awesome at helping her realize what she wants out of life. I loved how they accepted each other and respected one another too.
This was an easy listen but I didn’t want their story to end. And can’t wait to hear more about Axel’s friends in Whiskey River.
The audiobook is what pulled me into the book. The actors sounded what I envisioned for the characters and I fell in love with them both.
