About this listen
Alone, on the run, and fighting for her life.
Sloane Murphy thought hiking the Grand Canyon alone after graduation would be an awesome adventure. Until she slips and starts to plummet to her death. Then the unthinkable happens.
She transforms into...a dragon.
After flying to safety and trying to convince herself she isn’t having a mental breakdown, the hunters come for her. She runs, somehow managing to stay one step ahead of them. Until her luck runs out. Now the hunters have her, and they intend to kill, not capture.
That’s when he comes for her.
Logan Sharp is the last dragon shifter alive. Or so he thinks, until he gets word that the druids are hunting a red-headed female. His team takes her in, sheltering her because there is a truth she must learn: if the Skyborn die out, then so does humanity.
But Sloane is hiding a dark secret that she doesn’t even know yet. A secret that could change everything.
Recommended age 16+ due to language.

Done and dusted in a day
Listening whilst gardening makes. Your gardening slower! You have been warned.
A really enjoyable listen from. Beginning to end. Sloane is in denial for quite a while but who wouldn't be!! Falling off the edge thinking your gonna die and turning into a dragon would make you a bit cookoo too.
Sloane ends up being a likeable character with a journey ahead that you ache to join.
It's not only dragons. We have shifters, fae and druids too. Oh, and logan. 😉

I loved the premise of the story
Druids, who want dominion over the world, for this they hunt the dragons, kill them and absorb their magic. The dragon’s magic keeps humanity alive.
Logan is the last dragon shifter and the future of the world depends on his survival, and he lives in hiding, supported and protected by his pack of animal shifters.
Sloane Murphy has lived her life believing she was human, only to find out she is a dragon shifter, more over the last female dragon shifter.
Unfamiliar with the magic that exists alongside the human population, she is freaked out and can’t control her powers and doesn’t understand why there are men chasing her.
Logan and his pack have to protect her and teach her about her heritage and how to fight and protect herself.
The characters are great, well thought out and their characters match their shifter animals well.
However Sloane Murphy, the main protagonist is irritating and exasperating and I frequently wanted to give her a good shake!
I felt the pace was pretty good, though some action scenes seemed a bit rushed and could have probably done with a few more details of the individual fights between the druids and different pack members, showcasing their abilities. For instance it would have been interesting to witness some of the telepathic conversation between Logan and the Falcon shifter.
The world building was ok, and assuming we are looking at present day America, it wouldn’t really benefit from a more detailed description; after all we are living it.
The narrator Vanessa Moyen made listening easy, as she read at a good pace, was clear and concise and put the right amount of emotional emphasis on the voices.
Shifter romance is not my favourite genre, but given the action, I enjoyed the read and am fairly likely to continue reading/listening to the series.
I received this book in audio book format from the author and am leaving this review of my own volition.

I liked the slow burn of the romantic relationship but then it all unwind so fast and felt very rushed. Because of this I won't be buying the next volume
I thought the narrator was ok, despite what other reviewers said. Could have been better for sure but passable for such a short story.
